- Convenience to Canal & Bourbon Street
- Friendly staff
- Good service
- Beautiful decor in entrance
- Amenities (ie, free printing, business room, pool, fitness center)
- Overall cleanliness
- Walls in my room had scuffs/marks
- Linen had minor stains
- CD player didn't work
- Closet door got knocked out of its track
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans and will definately come back again to this particular hotel. The entrance is beautiful with crystal chandeliers and marble floors. There is a good restaurant by the Brennan family right in the lobby area although I never had the chance to try the food.
It's location is superb if you are looking for high quality lodging and convenience to the nightlife that New Orleans offers you. It faces Canal Street and is on the corner of Bourbon Street. You are within walking distance to a CVS/Pharmacy if you need supplies and a Canal Shopping Mall if you want to go shopping which has Banana Republic and BCBG. At night, you can just walk and turn the corner within 40 feet and you are automatically at the beginning of a crazy night out on Bourbon Street. If you are intolerant of outdoor noise, I highly recommend that you put a special request for noise reduction when booking with Astor.
The staff is friendly and efficient. My room was cleaned everyday around the mid-afternoon time and the room itself was cozy with minor scrapes/stains on the wall.
Nightlife Tip : If you are sensitive to noise, I would highly recommend that you let the hotel staff know about this. Astor Crowne Plaza is conveniently situated at the corner of Canal and Bourbon Street and so if you are placed in a room facing Bourbon Street, you will hear loud music, obnoxious karaoke, and miscellaneous hollaring from tourists wandering and partying on that street. I personally did not mind it and wanted to face that street as part of a sight-seeing commodity. However, if you are sensitive or intolerant to such obscenities, request to be placed as far from street noise as possibe.

Great location on the edge of Bourbon Street, excellent restaurant, dark curtains to keep out early morning light .
Maid service could not seem to replenish coffee and toiletries consistently, pool small.
This is a great location if you want to enjoy Bourbon Street and have close walking proximity to the sites in the French Quarters. The restaurant is excellent and though the pool is small it is adequate. Request a room on a high floor to tune out late night Bourbon Street activity and enjoy the dark curtains...they block out early morning sun very effectively!
Restaurant Tip : The hotel restaurant is excellent, and don't miss Coop's Place for Jambalaya, Praline Connection for Soul Food and Brennon's for breakfast (baked apple bananas foster are a must!).

Lobby furniture, amazing oyster bar, friendly helpful staff, room was well appointed and had plenty of space
TV was old, pool needed more chaise lounges. (only three)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Astor Crowne Plaza. As a group of 26, the oyster bar on the first floor was a perfect meeting place at the end of the day. Woody, Perry, and Leo, were practically our family by the end of our four day weekend. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the food was amazing. We loved the location of the hotel. Close to all of the action, but not right in the middle of it. Our group was diverse in ages and interests and this hotel was convenient to everything we wanted to do (shop, gamble, eat, drink) We will definitely stay there again.
Tip: Ask for Perry's secret sauce when you sit at the oyster bar.
