Pros: good location, chic decor, spacious & comfortable room, topnotch customer service

Housekeeping knocked on my door around 9:00 a.m. to see if the room was empty. I was still in bed and only barely awake. It was a minor irritation but would have appreciated housekeeping coordinating with the front desk to find out which guests have already checked out.

I would definitely stay at the Pere Marquette again. The CBD location is convenient to the French Quarter, Arts District, and you can get to the Garden District and City Park via nearby streetcar lines. The hotel lobby is very chic in decor. Loved the light fixtures and lounge furnishings! There is a Starbucks conveniently located in the lobby and the MILA restaurant in the hotel is excellent. My Queen room was spacious, with one of the largest bathrooms I have ever enjoyed in a hotel. The room decor was much more restrained compared to the lobby (bordering on austere, but quite tasteful), and had a very comfortable bed. The front desk staff provided top notch customer service! I got checked into a room immediately even though I arrived at 11 a.m. Renee shipped my package to my home address for me and arranged for an airport shuttle upon my departure. She did all this while helping at least 3 other people at the same time, and was very pleasant to deal with. Extremely professional front desk staff!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There are two streetcar lines you can board within a block of this hotel: the St. Charles streetcar to the Garden District, and the Canal Street trolly that goes out to City Park where you will find the New Orleans Art Museum and the Botanical Garden. The French Quarter is great, but there is so much more to see in NOLA! I especially recommend riding the St. Charles streetcar out to Audubon Park and the Tulane University Campus. Wander around and enjoy the beautiful live oaks and the campus architecture. Then walk down to Magazine Street for some great shopping (especially the stretch between the 3000 & 4200 blocks). No chain stores here - just unique, small business and some very good restaurants where the locals hang out.

Clean, very friendly staff.

None

We requested early check in, a high floor and a king bed. We got all of our requests granted and with a very nice attitude at the front desk. We were able to check in @ 10:30 in the morning, they put us in a king room on the 16th floor on the corner of the building with a great view. The staff was polite and helpful. No complaints about this hotel, it was a very positive experience.

Restaurant Tip : "suave" great breakfast at the corner of Magazine and Common st.

It was a terrific location. One block to the French Quarter. Clean, well furnished rooms. Very nice employees. Hotel restaurant voted best new restaurant in New Orleans.

The only con for me would be the price of parking at the hotel's parking garage.......too high.

A beautiful hotel located one block from the French Quarter.Room was nicely decorated with comfortable beds, refrigerator, big clean bathroom, fluffy towels. Starbucks coffee shop, bar, lovely lounge located in lobby. Terrific room service. Mila Restaurant, fantastic, voted best new restaurant in New Orleans. Hotel has own parking garage with valet parking but at $20 a day, a bit high.
