location and price made this hotel worth staying at. The staff was friendly, and they offer a bag checking service so we could tour the city even the day we checked out. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy.
No hot water - although this was an unusual episode. Their boiler had broken down, so the entire hotel was without hot water. I don't expect that this happens often, and they gave us complimentary breakfasts for the inconvenience.
The rooms are small and not fancy, but we were only interested in having a clean place to sleep. The location is right near a subway stop and only a few blocks from rockafeller center, so it was so easy to get to. The breakfast isn't worth $10, so go to a nearby cafe. We stayed on the 1st floor (rm 102) and it was a little noisy from the attached restaurant in the lobby area, but we were so tired from walking around all day that it didn't bother us. I'd stay there again.
Hotel Feature Tip : You can take the blue A line to the 50th street stop and you'll be right near the hotel.

excellent location.
good coffee - free all day.
good price.
looks nice, decorated nice.
can't control heat in room.
very small rooms.
a/c still in window in middle of winter, letting in cold air.
staff not overly accommodating.
Stayed for a weekend sightseeing around Xmas time. Hotel looked nice and in the best location for us (young couple), but a few down sides - the air conditioner was still in the window, letting 15 degree cold air into our hotel room 24/7. Heat was old radiator heat which we could not control - it was very cold in our room. TOO cold. When we mentioned it to staff, we got extra blankets and it did seem to get a bit warmer in there, but not great. Stains on blankets. A bathroom across the hall from our room was used frequently by a man who stated he "lived in the hotel." We could hear him showering and such - very thin walls. Coffee was free 24/7 and was good. Hotel staff ignored us when we were waiting to check out, focusing on incoming guests.

there were no pros of this hotel
too small for the money we paid, for the same amount there are luxury hotels all over Europe, too dirty, too poor breakfast, too cold.
Totally disappointed from the hotel, no hot water on a period of cold, cold rooms, no heating. We were frozen for a night everybody was complaining and asking to leave the hotel immediately.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : its close to everything its in the heart of manhattan
