great location, friendly staffs, reasonable price

I have difficulty opening the shower, although they have me instruction on how to open, still have some problem opening.

I had a great stay at Astor on the ParK NY. The hotel location is perfect for me. I thought I would never see a nice place to stay near Harlem Hospital. Staffs were very friendly and helpful which really help me ease my tension since I am new to the place and having an important interview. I was even allowed to change clothes after my interview and got me a cab to go the airport which really help. I would definitely stay there again in near future.

All of the staff: the front desk staff, housekeeping, front door guys - went out of their way to accomadate us. The were no chairs in the room, but when we mentioned it to the housekeeper, someone brought two chairs within 15 minutes.

Room was very very small, tub drained slowly.

All in all we had a positive experience. The price was quite reasonable, the room was clean, and the staff was exceptional. Our main concern was that the room was very small; about a foot and a half of space on either side of the double bed. There were no chairs but when we asked two were delivered to the room in 5 minutes. Unfortunately, there was almost not enough room for the chairs. The bathroom was newly redone, but the tub filled up while we showered and then took almost 5 minutes to drain. There are two computer terminals available for paid internet access in the basement, along with vending machines. Given the price compared with other hotels in the area, we think it was a very good deal, and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable price, a clean room, and a location at the north end of Central park.

Safe neighberhood and clean rooms and clean towels.

Old elevator and bad reception of the tv

The Astor on the park is a perfect hotel for travelling couples. the location of the hotel is perfect for the morning people how likes to jog, across the streets is Central park and this park is pefect for jogging. The subway is 2 blocks away from the hotel and there is a busstop in front of the door, taxi's are available across the in their city and is the best transportaion thru ny except at rush hour. The rooms in Astor on the park are always clean, rooms are al little bit small but you only have to be in the room for sleeping and washing. The next time I will be in ny I will choice again for Astor on the park.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit Central park.

Clean rooms, safe neighborhood, within 2 mins walk to the subway station on 103rd street, central park 30 metres.

It takes you 30 mins to get to midtown of Manhattan. TV reception is terrible.

Astor on the park is an excellent hotel for a few days visit to the big apple, it has good location towards the other parts of the city and its across Central Park, what I loved. Within a 5 mins walk there is a nice small deli and some mini markets and the subway is only 2 mins far on 103rd, bus stop on the corner. The rooms are small but it's clean and up to date, but i think everybody is only in the room to sleep and the beds are comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a nice stay in New York. I love new york!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Central Park across the street.

Friendly efficient staff. Clean Hotel Opposite north end of Central Park.

Very small room. Quiet more residiential area.

As a place only to sleep in New York this was an acceptable hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean but small. Central Park is opposite the front door and we walked through the park a couple of times into town. Taking in the points of interest in the park took us two hours to reach the end. Subway is only two blocks away (103rd Blue Line) and was five minutes to Times Square.

Travel tip : Hop on Hop off tour bus was great value for a 48hrs ticket.

clean room and bath/ silent area.

noisy air condition

there was a plesent stay at the hotel and the place is very close to the central park. that makes the stay interesting and lot of optiones of traveling along the nice park. especialy it is nice to walk the morning walking and to see a lot of people walking at the park with their pets. i would say that this is a bit of an advantage of the hotel.

This hotel was very clean with a comfortable bed. The desk clerk and doorman were very nice and accommodating. The location had easy access to the subway, and we felt safe.

The room was so small it was difficult with two people, but when staying in New York you don't stay in the room much. We did need more space for out luggage.

When searching for a hotel, I began by selecting based on location and, of course, price. The majority of the hotels in New York City are way over priced especially the closer you get to TImes Square. Most started at $245.00 and up.I was able to get this hotel for $174.00 which included taxes, fees, etc. It is right across the street from Central Park. I would stay at this hotel again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Central Park

Location is just 3 blocks from the subway (103rd street), bus stop (M10) is just across the street, Central Park is just in front of the Hotel! Hotel is in a quiet neighborhood and there are restaurants/delis starting one block from the hotel. There is a Dunkin Donuts, Mcdonalds, KFC plus some other Indian, Chinese, Pizza restaurants, bakeries nearby. Staff are friendly. Hotel is small but very clean.

The heater for some reason was noisy. It sounded like it was giving off pressure and it stayed that way for a few hours between 3-5 am.

I was there 18-19Dec, Agoda really really found a good deal! Not sure about the food in the hotel. I do not think there is that service.

maybe the location. power shower. friendly maids.

no working heating (on Christmas). shabby condition of hotel and rooms. felted carpet.

We decided to book this hotel due to previous evaluations and a supposed good price. unfortunately we were little shocked when we entered the hotel. It looks like a hostel with felted carpets everywhere and the rooms were in general poor condition. The first room we got offered was stinking and was set up of a double bed and a bunk bed. But we have booked two double beds. So we complained and got a room with a broken heating. ...

Price was great, nice view of central park. Friendly and helpful staff.

Old building, only one slow elevator, but nothing to complain about.

I came to New York for a very short period of time. I chose Astor on the Park Hotel for a couple reasons: It was close to my destination and it had a very low price online. I was very happy with my decision as the staff were nice and helpful. They helped me to hail taxis and held my luggage for me at the front desk after I checked out so that I didn't have to carry it around NY before my flight that evening. There was one small and slow elevator, but the room was a decent size with clean white sheets, a double or queen sized bed, two chairs as well as a bunk bed. The temperature was comfortable with a working heater and the bathroom was small but nice. I had a nice view of central park and I would definitely stay here again for the same low price.

Very trendy, well maintained, friendly staff, and nice bathroom!

tv was rather weak, but we weren't in New York to watch tv, you would just expect a little nicer of a tv in a hotel like it... also, it was very small, but again, we were not in new york to hang out in the hotel room...

very nice hotel! The hotel was in a very nice location and was overall just a very nice place! it was small, but we did not go to new york to have a huge hotel room--all we were doing was sleeping, and it was very very nice for that. there was not a temperature control (aside from an air conditioning window unit) in the room so we were forced to be content with the temperature of the entire hotel, which was not bad, but i could see it annoying to some... Definitely recommended to any couple/individual/ group of friends that are going to new york and want to stay in a nice hotel that is reasonably priced, as new york hotels can be extremely expensive.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : very close to central park (it's literally right across the street) and you could essentially spend a day walking through central park and get directly to downtown which is something that we did that was nice. Also, there are two subways very close (one is 3 blocks, the other 4, the other way) which was nice for the long distances.

Very funky interior, clean, well presented, very functional room tastefully decorated, opposite Central Park, Beautiful views from Balcony, very helpful staff, great area.

a little far from Time square- but this is also a Pro in some regards

It was with great trepidation that we booked Astor, fearing that it was so much farther uptown than I had ever ventured in Manhattan before.. so far from time square and everything that as a tourist I should know... I need not have been concerned. In fact I will not hesitate to stay there again. Not only is lower Harlem a great area, but the hotel itself was fantastic value for money. Firstly, the area is much quieter than the more tourist infested midtown. Very little traffic noise, fantastic deli's for breakfast around the corner and overlooking the Northern Central Park, a short stroll to the North woods or Harlem Meer. The area felt very safe at all hours, and presented a far more real experience of Manhattan. The hotel itself was wonderful, very funky interior, and the room well presented. The rooms are small, ( this is manhattan after all), but better than anything around the same budget that I have had in Manhattan. It is about a 10 minute subway ride to timesquare, which is fine as the subway station is only a few blocks away. Loved it. would do it again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : In nearby Central Park, you are a short stroll form the North woods, the colonial Blockhouse (used for defence in the war of independence) and Harlem Meer (Meer is dutch for lake). In the North woods you will see more squirrels than you can point a camera at.

Personnel working were very kind.

I was awaken at 3:30 AM to the loud noise of the steam coming from the water heater. The front desk told me it was going to stop in 30 min. It continued until 6:30 AM. It was impossible to sleep.

I do not know how it is during the summer, however in the winter I would make sure that the water heat steamer is fixed and does not go off.
