Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, large room size On arrival we were surprised by the size of the room, as we had been told New York hotel rooms are very small. This was not the case at the Benjamin. The room was large, very nicely decorated, clean and in excellent condition. The staff were at all times polite, friendly and very helpful. The location is superb, easy walking to 5th Avenue, the Rockerfeller centre, Times Sq, Grand Central, Chrysler Building, and the subway is just over the road. Plenty of good restaurants within 5 minutes walk. We will be returning to New York next year, and will not be looking at other hotels
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't bother with the Empire State Building - just go to the Top of the Rock. Although the view of the Chrysler building is obscured, the view of the Empire State (which obviously you can't see from the Empire State!) and central park is stunning. Virtually no queue either

Great service. Great house keeping and very good location. The beds and the sleep features of the hotel were fantastic. Charging for non-connected international calls. However, when disputed, they refunded the money. We really had a splendid time in this hotel. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the staff were all very polite and helpful. The rooms are nice and quiet for New York and the location is good. Great proximity to everything. Lots of shopping areas are within walking distance. We would definitely stay here next time we're in New York!
Restaurant Tip : For a great American Diner - walk out of the main doors, turn left and walk past the next hotel. Just beyond it is a great diner with friendly staff and queues out of the door....and that was in the pouring summer rain!

Driving directions from JFK: Take I-678 (Van Wyck Expwy) west to SR 25 (Queens Blvd) west. Bear left onto Queens Plaza N and continue onto Queensboro Bridge. Exit to 2nd Ave and turn left. Turn right on E 57th, then left on Lexington Ave. The hotel is at the corner of Lexington Ave and E 50th St.
Driving directions from Newark: Follow signs to take US 1/US 9 north to I-95 (New Jersey Tpke) north (toll road). Take Exit 16E to the Lincoln Tunnel, then exit to Dyer Ave. Turn right on W 40th St, then turn left on Avenue of the Americas. Turn right on W 46th St, left on Park Ave, then right on E 50th St.
