Windows don't open and AC is the old fashioned kind- basically on or off. Customer service is terrible - see review. Location is not close to the subway.
I can understand why this hotel is rated well- it's a bargain rate for a NYC hotel. However, if something goes wrong- don't expect it fixed. My toilet didn't work for the first 24 hours I was there. YES- this is correct- no working toilet for 24 hours. And I was charged fully for this day.

Everybody got an upgrade when checking in.
Details in the room were not up to the standard and lifts were very slow.
Staying in the Bentley Hotel was in general a good experience and value for money was good.
Checking in and out was painless and everybody got an upgrade when checking in.
Details in the room were not up to the standard and lifts were very slow. Personnel
was kind and helpful through out our stay, but some didn’t speak much of English!
Rooftop terrace was under renovation, which was a pity.

Nice Lobby. Fresh fruit available. Very comfortable beds. Clean. Good location. Close to subway (about 4 blocks)
Cost was higher than what I am used to, but it is in Manhatten!!
Welcomed by door men into nice lobby. It was not overdone, very suttle. Fresh fruit available at the front desk at no extra charge. Clean and comfortable room. We were upgraded to a mini suite. Lovely corner room overlooking the street, bridge and river on the 12th floor. All of the toiletries were nicely displayed as well. Gave you more than enough towels.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We met some old friends there and explored Manhatten, Brooklyn and Coney Island

Courteous Staff, Nicely appointed rooms, great views (especially from the top floor bar), great location; lots of nice restaurants in the area, times square is only a 10 dollar taxi ride from the hotel.
No free wifi and no in room coffee.
I have stayed at the Bentley Hotel on my last four visits to New York City. The experience of my first stay hooked me on this hotel. It is located right along the East River right next to the Queensborough Bridge. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff is very courteous. Make sure to visit the top floor where you can have drinks and dinner. The views are phenomenal.
The hotel is located in the city's upper east side so the area is very safe and there are many nice eateries scattered about. If you wish to move to midtown, it costs about 10 dollars by cab and takes 15 minutes and you are at Times Square. I plan to use this hotel whenever I am in New York City for either business or pleasure.
Restaurant Tip : For a great breakfast, check out the Ritz Diner. A greasy spoon type place you will get a full breakfast and OJ for about 6 bucks. Unheard of in NYC. It is located 1 block from the hotel.

Good room, quiet location, and you will get a larger room than others in NY.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A very good night view if you could stay a higher floor.

The only other downside, but not a huge deal, is that there is a gas station below the hotel. It COULD be loud if you're on the lower levels and there is a lot of activity. We were on the second floor and we read reviews saying that it was loud...but it really wasn't at all.

Given the price of hotels in NY, reasonably satisfactory. Realized later that morning, seven supermarkets under the bridge since they vacant, convenient shopping.
Old air-conditioning equipment, loud and leave it attached. And there is no kettle in the room was inconvenient. It took much time in the shower until the water is warm. Refrigerators in the rooms are not available (for example, bought their own drinks flyby) who felt inadequate and a vacuum cleaner over the carpet.
The subway is a little off but, move more easily if you use the bus (but I should get a bus route map in advance). Rooms are clean but stylish, bathrooms are a bit awkward. So did not use the Internet pay. The top-floor restaurant was under construction, no files Service Facilities of the hotel rooms, were often confusing. Quite frankly, I do not have the information to the wrong room.
Shopping Tip : Super under the bridge (The Food Emporium, 59th st & 1st ave) in the food they sell a variety of interesting to us partly prepared foods.

While in Manhattan, in a quiet residential area was nice in the key of the whole Europe.
East end, so where (York Ave) subway and inconvenient.
Was a really nice restaurant on the top floor as everyone writes. There was a morning and night atmosphere. I pod was also room for a stereo. Very cold without a refrigerator, mini bar is very high. As there was a gas station had to write one more floor. However, ATM may be useful, it was also attached.
Nightlife Tip : Starbucks in the neighborhood. Morning at six and a half doing Temashita. 1st Ave is doing well until late in the Jazz bar, Italian, sushi, Thai food and was also shops. Shops were also doing 24 hours.

The hotel is ideally located, very central and only 10 minutes walk from Central Park. Rooms are very clean and bright, the view on the bridge is relaxing
The handling of the mini-bar, it is questionable that we should not merely represent their own drinks.
As the hotel is so central, everything is very fast via taxi or subway. A jooking tour in the park is recommended. The eat in the hotel was ok, the restaurant is located in the 21st st floor. The view is also good. The guests visiting the hotel go from young to old. And all nationalities, so you can make contacts while a cigarette outside in the Entre enjoys.
Shopping Tip : The bloomindales is only about 10 minutes away ... Hammer

The room is also nice with a large
Is it designed by a good designer, the hotel is nifty. "New York" feeling during your stay, the hotel is immersed. In the hotel bar at night, especially, is excellent (I was always better) and increase the difficulty after retirement, you will be required to travel by taxi from the subway station so far
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The ropeway will have a depot near Roosevelt Island. (Ride at night is beautiful and night) in the neighborhood are full of cheap and delicious restaurants.
