Top design features. Excellent atmosphere. Great service.

Loud noise outside produces by the air conditioning units. The finishes of the hotel are not very well maintained. really tearrible gin tonic served at the terrace bar.

Thanks to the designer Philippe Starck and the good taste of the Morgan’s Group The Hudson Hotel can be rated as one of the top hotels I've come across. The relaxed atmosphere created by the design and the friendly staff makes you feel comfortable wehn you walk in, or even if you are simply having a chat in the lobby, this is something difficult to find in most hotels of this quality where you feel constantly watched. Even though the rooms are too small to fully enjoy the design, Starck managed to create an intimate space where you can relax. The down side is the badly maintained windows, which are of such low quality the let in all the noise produced by the air conditioning units. Also the lack of maintenance of the corridors and the roof can be seen in the ceilings and plasterboard corners. One more thing, please hire someone who can make a decent gin tonic. They cost as much as much as a bellini in London and they taste worse than tap water.

Restaurant Tip : the maze at the london hotel

Great bar scenes, one bar became a club scene late night with great music and dancing. We would not love staying here with our kids..I think it is more for couples, although i did see a bunch of families so I guess you could stay in a suite or a bigger room. I thought it was overpriced for the size of our room.

Shopping Tip : Time Warner building across the street with everything in it.
