Couples Sweden, April 14, 2013	Good value for money for a budget hotell 10 meters away from the subway, 10 minutes from Central park, good selection of restaurants and bars upp the street 6 A quite pleasant stay with very helpful staff! A special thank you goes out to staff who made our stay better by being the "go to guy" for all our questions! The room: we booked a "deluxe room" when it in fact was just a standard room - so don't buy the marketing language! The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and towels were changed on a daily basis! Could have done a better job at dusting (we could wipe our finger in dust on the night stands). Transportation: Easy to take yourself to and from JFK - takes about an hour and the subway is right outside the entrance! Food and drink: Good selection of restaurants if you go up a block or two. Starbucks is right next door and a lot of grocery stores are close by. All in all a good budget hotel - if you don't expect a luxury stay you won't be disappointed.

Couples United States of America, March 18, 2013	Economical and nicely adequate Close to subway, inexpensive (for Manhattan), relatively quiet 7.7 This hotel has a charming lobby and helpful, friendly staff. Coming up from the 1 train at 103rd, the hotel is visible as you get to street level. There is a steep, narrow staircase to get to the lobby, but there was staff right there upon our arrival offering to help us with our bags. Our room was nothing fancy, but reasonably clean with clean linens, plenty of hot water, and relative quiet. My husband needed assistance a couple of times from the hotel staff while I was attending a conference at the Javits Center, and he was impressed with their courtesy and efficiency. I will admit that I am something of a hick, and feel rather overwhelmed by the cacophonous hustle of Midtown Manhattan. So I found it lovely to stay on the Upper West Side with its broad streets and tasteful urbanity, and was very glad to have booked a stay at Marrakech Hotel.
