location is the main positive and price is attractive rooms need to be cleaner, check-in time needs to be more flexible, and bag check-in is very expensive Overall, this hotel is a great choice for someone on a budget. It is very reasonable especially since it is located right near Penn Station. There is rarely an issue of this hotel being booked up because it has so many rooms. However, the rooms are a little under maintained and appear dirty but it works for a short trip or a trip by yourself.

Location, room rates, clean size of rooms, length of time taken to check in I booked and stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions within a two week period.
The first time it took a minimal of time to check in and I was given an excellent room, very clean an a view of the city.
The second occasion it took close to one hour to check in. I was given a very small room, I did not have a place to put my suitcases(5 pieces)the television remote did not work and the room was located behind the elevators, everytime the elevator was in use I could a loud banging in my room. I paid for quad rooms on both occasions.
Shopping Tip : Check all store prices before making final decision on purchase.

during the first stay of our visit we were given a spacious room on the 17th floor. It was comfortable and had all the essential features. There is nothing I can think of that needed improvement since I was very comfortable for those two days. We arrived at midnight so there was no line up for our check-in so it was quite smooth. The service provided by the staff was very efficient and our stay was memorable. It was my son's first visit to this hotel and he had high praises for the staff at penn hotel as well as the accommodation.
Shopping Tip : Shopping was great but you have to walk and compare prices before buying especially electronics. Shopping for clothing was easy- plentiful with varying styles to suit everyone.
