Nice little apartments in the East Village

We loved our "little" place. Our apartment was tiny, but we knew that coming in and it was very functional. It is in a nice neighbourhood with an amazing selection of restaurants and bars nearby. It is a 5-10 min walk to the subway, which we used a lot. We had a "futon" apartment and it was surprisingly very comfortable. Checking in was easy, although we did have to call the agent twice to arrange a meeting, then wait about 10 minutes.
We felt very safe staying there and it was nice having an apartment, rather than an expensive hotel as we felt like we were living like New Yorkers while we stayed there.
