Clean & very comfortable room no street noise.
Location, cleanliness and large room
8.3
We enjoyed. Staff on front desk need to speed up as very slow. Breakfast service poor and food boring. Fortunately the very comfortable room made up for the other short comings. I would stay again as also love that location

Best location with a superb view of Central Park
The view of the Central Park with the great executive suite room confort, the attentive and friendly staff, the express check out
9.7
Great experience, for the second time at the Helmsley Park Lane.We arrived late at night and had an upgrade to the executive suite with the Central Park´s viet, which makes all the difference while in New York. The suite had very confortable beds and was very clean. The room service is very fast and good.Next time, we´ll stay again at the Helmsley Park Lane, now, our hotel in New York.

Great location. Worth only at special price
location, large room, near subway
7.3
At first we went to the wrong hotel. It is used to have 2 helmsley hotels but now there is only one (the another one is now changed to be Westin). The room is quite large and clean. Location is great, next to the plaza hotel, opposite to subway station (yellow line). The annoying thing is that the wall is very thin, enough to wake you up with the sound of closing door.

Faded glory, indifferent staff, overpriced
location, location, nothing else
5.3
Look, of course this is a luxury hotel and such all was fairly nice, big room, clean etc.
But I stayed elsewhere and I got so much more attention and service, that it made the Hemsley pale in comparison. They entice you with free breakfast, you want that to be really good brekfast but what you get is donuts and coffee. The staff also makes the impression that they are going through the motions. I did not like it, will not return

Comfortable but skip the breakfast
room size, bathroom toiletries, location
6.7
Front office staff were courteous, efficient and helpful. Our room was on a high floor as requested and was very comfortable, and away from the busy lifts. The mini-bar was a no-go zone, so we would have liked a small frídge in our bathroom, as our friends had in theirs. Our views over Central Park were from the wonderful breakfast dining room. It was SO disappointing therefore to be told by a waiter, while we were still eating, to take our "breakfast included" paperwork to reception, "NOW PLEASE", otherwise we would be billed again for our breakfasts. All resolved when recepion took a copy of my booking confirmation. The continental breakfast was ordinary and overpriced, I was not offered a choice of teas when I asked for tea (and the waiter brought Earl Grey). We took our own teabags on the second day and asked for hot water. I expected a much better experience from the staff and I suggest that the hotel reviews tihe breakfast arrangements from the guests perspective. It could and should have been so much better.

A must-stay hotel with Central Park view
location, view of Central Park, close to many interesting places
7.7
If you are looking for a hotel with Central Park View and with limited budget (comparing to other expensive hotel), this is the hotel I highly recommend. But make sure that you book for the park view side, not the city view, and also make sure to request for high floor. I also recommend that you should spend time in the morning to walk or jog around the Central Park, just cross the street.

9.7
My mother and me stayed here for 3 nights recently and it's probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in NYC. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. large bathrooms with clean big bathtub(we need it japanese!) room are traditional interior that very warm and comfortable. Hotel staff were really fantastic. I will choose this hotel next time in NY again. its absolutely wonderful hotel that was well worth the money. only I hope wi-fi charges $12 per day could be free.
