Good price, good staff, nice rooms.
Quite a long journey to NYC centre.
The price was good for anywhere near NYC, and the staff were all very helpful and courteous.
Rooms were clean (and surprisingly large for being near New York).
There was a good selection of shops & restaurants in easy walking distance.
There is a free shuttle to the Staten Island ferry, but even so it takes an hour to reach the touristy stuff in the centre. About 20 minutes on the shuttle bus, 20 minutes or so on the ferry (which is a lovely way to get in by the way, and runs every 30 minutes during the day and hourly all night!), and then at least another 10 minutes on the subway to get to eg. Times Square.
We stayed for a week then extended for 2 extra days.
Shopping Tip : There's a small grocery store almost opposite the hotel with a good selection of food & snacks, but there's also a big 'King' supermarket to the right of the building which you might not notice due to the parking layout.
