Nice hotel downtown.

We stayed at the W Downtown over the Easter weekend to visit our children. We usually stay in the Financial District, since it is walking distance to our daughter’s apartment and the weekend rates are excellent. This was our first stay in the W, and we were happy with it. Our room was quite small, but nicely appointed with all of the expected amenities and a good bathroom. You had to request an in-room coffee maker, but the lobby coffee was so easy that we never did. The room was very quiet, which was a real plus. The hotel is right next to the World Trade Center site, which can be a bit of a negative because of the crowds, but a once you were a block away from the site this was not a problem. There are not many good restaurants close by, but it is only a 10-15 minute walk to Tribeca with many fine dining choices. We would definitely stay at the W again.

Everything about this hotel is cool

Great room, very friendly and helpful staff

We loved this hotel because the location is a lot quieter than mid-town Manhattan, and yet there is a subway station just around the corner so it's just a 15 minute ride to 42nd St. The hotel itself is really cool. The rooms are great and the service is excellent. They even have a free car (subject to availability) to take you anywhere in Manhattan.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Take an early morning walk around the financial district or battery park to see the sun coming up over the statue of liberty.
