Breakfast Hot room, could not control heat We really enjoyed our stay, although brief. Our room was clean and comfortable, although the steam heat made the room hot at night and we had to leave the windows open to bring the temperature down. We enjoyed the cont. breakfast and the coffee was outstanding. We even had our shoes shined! We loved the hotels' location, as it was very close to our family's home that we were visiting. We went next door to the restaurant the Island for a night cap- it was great fun! We enjoyed our stay. The shower was wonderful!
Nightlife Tip : Go to the Island Restaurant next door, great bar to sit at and nice bartender.

Breakfast room was unusual with a warm and homelike atmosphere.
The room was very personal and nice. Not exactly cheap.
Coffee mashine on the roof was out of order. We liked both the friendly reception and the rooms. It was a fairly large room - not modern, but of good standard with a good large bed.
The roofgarden was nice, although we did not have time during the day to take advantage of the splendid view.
All in all we would gladly recommend the hotel to our friends.

Located in Upper East Side, good shopping. Wall air conditioners were noisy The hotel has a convenient location in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It is located near some of the best high end shopping in New York. the friendly and courteous staff openly welcome you into the small, but comfortable and well lighted lobby. The downside of the hotel is that the rooms were small and the wall air conditioners were noisy and inefficient. The TV set in the room I occupied was several years old and needed replacment.
Restaurant Tip : Joanna's, a local restaurant next to the Hotel, has excellent food and service.

While this is one of the riches neighborhoods in the world with lots of designer stores and nice restaurants it's still a family neighborhood with young moms jogging down the street pushing strollers. Half the townhouses are discrete plastic surgeons. If you want excitement you'll have to get in a cab or walk a ways.
Hotel Feature Tip : Don't stay on 3rd floor. Loud fan outside window.
