great location, wonderful freindly staff slow elevators at peak times, bathroom tiny and could use remodeling my daughter and i just finished a 3 night stay at the Wellington hotel. The location was excellent, close to many attractions. The staff, from the housekeeping staff, bellboys and concierge , were all friendly, helpful and smiling. Two small, somewhat minor negative aspects: the lobby was air conditioned to the freezing point, second, for people with a lot of baggage -the rooms are not big and there is little room for the bags. ours were on the floor, leaving little room to walk ! Despite these two pooints i would gladly return!

Great location! Close to Carnigie Hall, Central Park, lots of great restaurants. Old fashion rooms...very small, old bedding, etc. Wellington Hotel is one of those old New York Hotels that's close to many attractions including restaurants, Central Park, Shows, etc. The drawback is the room size, with old furniture, bedding, and a very tiny bathroom. However, the folks at the desk are very professional, dedicated staff. The in-house restaurant was a good bargin, especially for breakfast. One neat surprise was talking with all the foreign visitors that were staying there...now that was fun.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great quick walk to Central Park.

Convenient to Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Columbus Circle and mid-town. Front Desk friendly and responsive. Rooms were clean, comfortable and large Elevetors rather small for size of hotel and bathrooms although upgraded you couldn't shut the door without putting up the toilet seat. Wonderfuly stay. The convenience of location for moving all over New York City is worth every penny. From the bellmen, front desk personnel to the floor attendants the staff was uniformly friendly and courteous. I had requested non-smoking room and since there were none available at the rate I booked they upgraded me without a moments hesitation. Room was quiet and the noise of the city was extremely muted. I will definitely stay at the hotel again.
