Pleasant budget hotel

I was quite satisfied with this hotel: reasonable price, clean and pleasant. The facilities looked tired but that is why it is a 2 stars hotel. The management should install metal handles on the wall in the shower so that seniors can help themselves stepping in and out of the bathtub. I love the firm mattresses here, unlike in many other hotels where their soft mattresses gave me severe back pain and sleepless nights.

Finding a cheap accommodation in New York is next to impossible. So even if you wanted all the perks you get from a 4-5 star hotel, you would eventually settle for less as the prices of fine hotels are way to expensive.
I found this hotel through Agoda and I thought that it's pretty decent and though it's like 2 star price is still on the high side. What I love about the hotel is the location and the friendly receptionist. Also, they have lifts to get to your room unlike other hostels in Chinatown. I was with my parents and carrying heavy luggages through the stairs is not an option.
It is very close to a metro and there are several chinese restaurants around.

Great location and price for Manhattan
Close to Grand St Station and Little Italy for great food

We wanted a hotel - not a hostel, and New York hotels are very expensive, so I was a little wary about this one, but I need not have worried. The Windsor is a boutique hotel next to a park, ideal if you want to get to know real New York people. Grand St station is around the corner, so it is easy to travel anywhere - the 7 day pass was great value at around $29. Easy walk to plenty of cheap places to eat in Chinatown, and Mulberry Street is only a couple of streets away. Would definitely stay here again.
Shopping Tip:
Take the subway to 34th Street for all the main stores.

the location was great and it was a lot cheaper than other hotels in manhattan

The hotel was a little bit dated, the bathroom could definitely do with some updating. It also was 100% clean. But it was a lot cheaper than any other hotel we saw in Manhattan, so you can't expect excellence. It was a good stay.
