Great location meant we could park up car and walk to nearby bars and resteraunts. Front desk staff very helpful.

In need of refurbishment

The Metropolitan Hotel, located on International drive is ideally placed especially for visitors to Universal and Seaworld with a shuttle service from the hotel.I found all the staff to be friendly and the front desk staff were very helpful when my keycard would not work, they fixed it in a Jiffy Although they provide Wi-Fi access in the lobby the range was limited and perhaps consideration could be given to extending it to the rooms which would have reduced the need for regular trips to the lobby. The free continental breakfast was basic but adequate but unless you arrived soon after 7am there was soon not much left. This was provided in a downstairs room but provided no facilities to sit to eat. The rooms could best be described as tired but it suited my purposes as all I needed was somewhere to sleep whilst I was house hunting. However whilst in the lobby I had a conversation with a Brazilian lady who was on a fortnights vacation and she was online to her travel agent to get a move as she found her room dirty. It suited my purpose especially at the price but I would not recommend for 14 nights, although upon checking in I was offred an upgrade at a fee to change rooms to the newer block of the hotel. I did not see inside but assume they are of a better standard.

Nightlife Tip : Millers sports bar was within walking distance and provided good value food and drinks

nice pool,eficient security,friendly front desk staff,large rooms .

I think if they sold Disney tickets it would be more convinient for hotel guests, and also reduce the breakfast price

coming to metropolitan was a very nice experience for me .When we come from a tiring flight the fist thing we want to do is take a shower and rest!! and the check in girl was so friendly and received me with a big smile that gave an immediate good impression of the hotel. She did the check in in 3 minutes and promptly showed me where my room was.Rooms are also large and comfortable.security also found my lost camera. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel !!!!

Nightlife Tip : the hotel is located near the best restaurants of Orlando:Tony Romas ,Ponderosa, Olive Garden and many others

The hotel is situated on international drive within easy walking distance to restraunts and bars ,the rooms are being upgraded and will be completed soon.

The pool was cold water , not sure if there is a lifegard in the summer months when children might be staying there

I will be looking to stay there next year if we get the same deal as this year,we realy enjoyed our stay, the hotel is clean and the staff are realy helpfull and the hotel is in a great place on international drive

the bed was fine and the internet in the lobby was fine. The hotel registration desk people were nice enough to me. Great price

hardly had any cell phone reception in my room. No internet access in the normal rooms.

I was expecting a real dump because i read all the reviews online about this hotel. But i didn't pay alot and i wasn't expecting alot either. It was fine. It served it's purpose and I didn't mind staying there at all. It's definitely not the quality of the Peabody hotel but then again i paid a THIRD of what the Peabody charges. I had a fine time. When the ice machine was broken (both were), the reception area was nice enough to fill my ice bucket.

Nightlife Tip : Howl at the Moon is an AWESOME piano bar and everything on I-Drive will get you SOMETHING you like. there's something for everyone.

Nice pool area; quiet although next to I-drive and I-4; restaurants within walking distance; Orange County congress center 30 min on foot; fairly clean; Starbucks coffee in the lounge.

No major cons. It´s just an o.k. basic hotel did not try food in the hotel.

Restaurant Tip : Excellent baby back ribs at Tony Romas (5 min walk from hotel).

Cheap

The hotel was disgusting and dirty. Everything in the room appeared to be 40 years old and very unclean. Terrible cleaning service. Horrible hotel.

The hotel was disgusting and dirty. There were black hairs in both beds, the bathroom had not been cleaned, and when I called to nicely ask for maid service they brought me only a single wrinkled fitted sheet that may have been dirty to change my own hairy sheets. It was the quality of a dirty flea bag motel that would appear to rent by the hour. I wouldn't stay there again if you paid me to and gave me me tickets to Disney. I'm not one of those people that picks places apart and I travel regularly. This really was the worst place I've ever been. Make sure if you stay here to bring cleaning supplies with you.

Nightlife Tip : There is an amazing piano bar on the upper level of the Universal City Walk. The piano players take song request and are often better than the original artist. It was a really great experience and completely free.

Entrance and that's it!

Sheets are dirty, maybe not even changed, towels are so old, carpet is so dirty, a soup in the restaurant is $5 which tastes bad, don't even eat anything in the restaurant, walk to International Drive, you will find a lot of good choices.

Restaurant Tip : Bogards is a very good restaurant, 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

Beds in my 2nd room had nice down blankets and they were clean, pool was great and had a nice lobby. Also great location within walking distance to multiple restaurants.

First room was tacky, looked like old dated bedding and the door did not shut properly, TV was small. Also, when we checked in we did not receive the room we had booked and had to call the front desk to be moved to a different room. The Tiki bar at the pool was closed at 9pm, not sure if it was ever opened.

Overall for $40 a night it is a great hotel. I wouldn't pay much more as the first room really made it appear to be dingy, tacky and dated.

Nightlife Tip : Fridays down the street was great. They had great food and great drink specials.

The morning that i got up they called me from the front desk telling me that i have a gift, so i when and get it. And they offered me some good deal for the attraction, also explained me about the difference.

The only weakness that the hotel have for me is that when i reach in my room at night i have to call them to bring me towels.

What i can tell everybody i had an very good vacation and trust me the hotel is good. This is my first time i book online and agoda is the best and Metropolitan resort also. Do not worry with the bad reviews, good stuff.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : With one dollar u can pick a bus to go wet & wild so you do not have to pay for the parking lot.

The coffee-maker in our room was missing the jar, so we could not make coffee. This should have been foreseen by the room attendant before clearing the room, I think. Besides this, it was very nice, nice views from our room to the gardens and the pool, very clean and good customer service at the reception. Walking distance from many restaurants and attractions. I would definitely book it again.

Great indoor pool area, wish we had time to enjoy it. Ok location, close to mostly everything. Nice lobby area, ok bar.

View was horrible and we had to be moved to a different room as we had paid extra for a pool view and got a view of some building.. Not so clean and very dated. Bar was overpriced. $6 for a budlight is crazy..

Overall it was ok for what the occasion was, which was a place to sleep.. Had we had more time to enjoy the amenities we would have had a better time inside the hotel.
