Regarding the price we have paid, this hotel was "awesome"!
If you walk around the hotel, you might notice is that the location is not in a nice neighborhood, meaning you will see strange people and homeless on the streets around. Those people do not seem to be harmful (FYI: we are coming from NY), but definitely it was not something you would want to expect around the hotel. So, we decided to take a cab when coming back to the hotel in the evening.
Other than this, the hotel was great. It is modern, new, and clean. Hotel by itself offers high-quality service and facility. The location of the hotel is convenient to many tourists places such as Union sq, Fisherman's, Japan Town, Market St etc...
We often took cabs from and to the hotel and it usually costs less than $10. Thus, despite the fact about the unsafe neighborhood, we felt the location was pretty ok.
Staffs were helpful and prompt. We did not expect extra services from them like you would expect from 5-star hotels. They did what you asked them with a fine attitude.

the room was modern and clean, and the staff there was friendly and helpful. the shuttle bus to downtown is a very good transportation for those who do not drive. the neighborhood around the hotel is not good with a lot of homeless people. walking in the neighborhood around the hotel at night is not recommended.

the hotel location is closed to the main shopping area, union square. it also provides a free shuttle bus service between the hotel and the union square.
the room is simple design and comfortable. the room facilities is good. the bathroom is big and good shower hub.
the food is pretty good and fresh.
the staff is polite and helpful.
but, the hotel area is too close to the beggers area. there are many beggers living at the street around.

the accommodation itself is great, i would not recommend to take the breakfast at the hotel, but find a coffee shop somewhere else.
be aware that the hotel is located close to several shelters, so the streets are full of homeless people - we felt uneasy walking in the street - even during the day.
hotel staff are very helpful in pointing out where and where not to walk, though.
close proximity to union square means that there is easy access to shops and restaurants, the trolleys and buses leading to tourist attractions are nearby.
