The price for the type of room was excellent.

I enjoyed my stay. The one problem was confusion upon checkout- the staff wasn't the most friendly. And they originally told me i could keep my car parked all day and then take a taxi to my destination, but then they said i had to remove my car from the premisis immediately.
They should have their policies told to all staff

Suck Service, No Parking, and Creepy Room

The worst thing was how creepy the room look. Everything here looked super old. The furnitures, elevator, and everything were creepy. You could hear some noises if there were someone living on top of your room. The heater wasn't working so well during the stay.

The location of the hotel on Sutter Street, one of the most famous street. However, the shops are at 500, and the hotel is at 1500, so there are 10 blocks away. 15 mins for fast walkers...might be a bit difficult with luggages.
However, the hotel room is nice....comfort and clear
Shopping Tip:
Had a great shopping time in SF, enjoyed Macy's a lot...

It was as good as its price suggests, but to be fair San Francisco is not renowned for the modern, sharp contemporary and this hotel was certainly indicative of this. But hugely recommend this hotel if you are travelling with a budget in mind.

In its day must have been a fine old hotel. Now owners are just cash cowing the hotel since no touch up of decor done for a while. A good job they built things well in the past. Would stay again: better value than noisy downtown.
Travel tip:
park on side streets. no need for expensive valet parking. be careful. about parking violations. apparently i parked the wrong way and more than 18" from curb which i didn't and will be taking up with issuing authorities ( but that's a different matter). watch out for cold weather: even in high season!

The hotel was a new found treasure.
Clean rooms decorated beautifully, restaurant food was fabulous and the bar was very nice.

We were very surprised to find this jewel of a hotel. The staff was cordial, the room beautifully decorated and I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and have already done so.

This was overall a nice stay. The building is charmign and historic. The bar staff were very friendly as were the restaurant staff but the reception could have been a bit jollier. The room was nice but in my opionion slightly overpriced considering breakfast was not included. The location was slightly far away from the centre.
