Location was ideal for the traveller. Close to shopping and restaurants. Friendly staff eager to assist.
Although the hotel was clean and well kept, the guest rooms (at least the one I was in) was very small, dark and the overall decor dated and a little run down. The bathroom was very small, but clean and well kept
The location of this hotel is ideal for the traveller wanting an inexpensive place to sleep before setting out to explore the city. The hotel is well kept and clean, but certainly could do will an internal coat of paint and new carpet to spruce the place up. The helpfulness of the staff and their eagerness to assist was a real plus.
Travel tip : Free internet WiFi. Great location to take advantage of downtown shopping and restaurants.

Wonderful location, reasonably priced, quaint and clean, helpful personnel.
Expensive parking, no on-site workout area.
The King George Hotel San Francisco is ideally located within walking distance of Union Station which provides wonderful shopping, restaurants and a wide variety of transportation options to all parts of the city. The cozy quaintness of the hotel provided a comfortable atmosphere to relax and regroup before taking off to explore the city. On site personnel were pleasant and helpful regarding any additional assistance or information. I highly recommend this Hotel for the conservative traveler!
Travel tip : Lori's Diner, open 24 hours a day next door to the hotel, is convenient and reasonable.
Lefty ODoul's is located around the corner for pub food and drink.

We totally enjoyed our getaway to San Francisco, and the hotel was definitely a part of it. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. We never ate at the hotel, so I have no idea the quality of what comes out of the kitchen.
Nightlife Tip : The Gold Dust bar was great and right around the corner.
