Fantastic Location, Great Hotel

Stayed in this hotel during August and it was a bit chilly. Good parking garage across the street and quite a few dinners where you can grab a hearty American breakfast and then head out for your sightseeing. For a single person, my room was good enough. If you have 2 people in the room, it may be a bit tight but still good. The hotel is a block away from Union Square so they ain't kidding when they say it's near. The BART (Underground, Tube etc) is nearby which gets you out of the city.

best thing about this hotel is that it is nearby the union square, only 2 blocks away. therefore, its great for those who love shopping. there is cable car station nearby as well. try it if you have a chance. it was a great experience for me.

this hotel makes you feel like being back to victorian style of decoration, nice and compact room but noisy talking from the doorway , room service is ok, but not the best; if you want safe and nice neighborhood , not too tourist -this hotel is one of your choice.

Very small and expensive rooms in San Francisco

There was nothing much we liked particularly about the hotel, it was just enough as a place for accommodation. The room was very tiny and they had only one old lift around which took ages. Everything was average i guess.
Restaurant Tip:
Restaurants in San Francisco are plentiful and all of them serves amazing seafood and clam chowder.

Nice old hotel and very conveniently located. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A little bit expensive though - rooms were quite small, doors had a big gap at the bottom so you could hear everything that was going on outside in the hallway. Great for a quick stay.

the hotel is close to the shopping center, public transport so it is very good for sightseeing. the room size is smaller that I expected but it is ok for 2 people. the room is clean with nice decoration. No fridge in the room. the staff is very helpful and nice.
