Service - the staff is awesome!!!
Location.....
Classic rooms Hotel Monaco in San Fran is an incredible property. So much so that I stayed there last week even though my meetings were in Oakland.
The staff bends over backwards to do everything you need - They opened the gym late so I could work out. They took care of my dry cleaning in 4 hours. When I missed the wine hour they gave me a coupon for a free glass in the bar. Simple, unsolicited things that make such a difference when you are on the road.
The rooms aren't huge but they are very well appointed in classic style.
I don't normally do these reviews but I felt that Hotel Monaco, and travelers, deserved it!!!
Nightlife Tip : Go a block or two down the road to Biscuits and Blues for good southern food and live music.

From the door man to the front desk, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Just as importantly, they were efficient. The wine social hour was nice to unwind after a long day. The bath robes and the underwear samples in tiger stripe and leopard spots were a little much. I would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly, professional and efficient. The hotel room and the bed were comfortable. It was easy to get some work done as well in the room. The proxmity to the Grand Cafe is also very nice.
Restaurant Tip : The Grand Cafe is excellent for food, although you are very close to Union Square. There are a number of "neighborhood" pubs well within walking distance that I thought were fun as well.

Great location and a very helpful staff. Restaurant Tip : Be sure to grab a snack at the Grand Cafe.
