Great location but rooms are old & small

this is not our hotel choice as we did a last minute booking & could not find any rooms in fisherman wharf area & thus decided to settle for a hotel near union square. location wise, it was great!! located just 5 mins walk from union square & with lots of shops & easy access to public transport. however, the rooms were really small & old & heater was so loud that i've to off it & bear with the cold winter night.

Terrible reception when we arrived.
location, location, and location, nothing else

incapable receptionist, totally messy, the rooms are not ready even if we arrived 3:30pm. and so much noise you can hear from our room (ventilation fan from downstairs. absolutely recommend to avoid this hotel.

As any other hotel in San Francisco you cannot expect too much. This is an old hotel relativity clean quite close to Union Square. The service is poor. They forgot to clean up my room one day.

A preview of Hell. Run away.
aside from the polite gentleman at the front desk, this hotel has no pros.

Old, dirty, smelly, run down and run over, looks a lot like road kill.
The only way I would stay there again was if I was dumped there as road kill.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't even consider staying here.

Very good location where you go to downtown or some other attractions on foot. The young guy in front desk is very helpful and friend. Room is big and clean. There is a super restaurant called Honey Honey for breakfast which is just next to the hotel!

We were struggling to find any accommodation in central San Francisco because of a very large IT Conferance, and would not have normally looked at this rating. We were pleasantly surprised.
Our first thoughts on entering the Post Hotel were a little reserved but the service was very good and the room was a good size. Very clean linen and fluffy towels.
All the taps and shower head are new and in very good working order. WiFi worked better than we have had had in far more upmarket Hotels. very good value for the price.

It is not overpriced hotel . We took it one day prior to arrival date and the price was really good compare to other hotels in the area .of course this is not luxury room and service but for expensive SF looks pretty good.
WiFi is OK.
