Terrific central location with Bart, Muni, Tram, Bus right outside. Not worth eating at hotel restaurant but all types of food within 50 yards Old hotel with a european feel, well decorated and not shabby. The staff were always really helpful, allowing me to change rooms to get a better Wifi signal, for instance. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard and a good size.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get a MUNI pass from Powell St so you can go anywhere.

Good location, decent room size smelly rooms, no resturant durating my stay period, have gto go out to even have coffee located in a conveneient location, staff is couteous and the rooms are of decent size. However, the heating in the rooms was old styled, there was a distinct smell and I had to change room. The resuturant was non-functional and to even have a coffee/bed-tea you wake up and go out of the hotel to across the street

Renoir Hotel is old, while it's cozy, clean and comfortable and most important of all, it is so convenient for me to go anywhere by muni and the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. Besides, the staff is helpful to offer information. The hotel has no restaurants. Shopping Tip : You only need take a muni for two stops and you will arrive at union square, where you can grab everything you want.

From SFO Airport (Highway 101 North): From Hwy 101 North follow the Bay Bridge signs (Highway 80 East). Exit on Fourth Street. Make a left turn on Third Street. Go up five blocks to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street. Go past the Cable Car turnaround, and turn right on McAllister Street.
From the Golden Gate Bridge (Highway 101 South): Follow Hwy 101 South (Downtown) to Van Ness Avenue. Turn right on Van Ness. Turn left on Golden Gate Avenue. Turn right on Jones Street, and right on McAllister Street.
From Oakland/Berkeley and the Bay Bridge: Exit on Fremont Street (1st right hand exit after the bridge). Turn left on Howard Street (at the first stoplight). Go to Third Street. Go up five blocks to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street. Go past the Cable Car turnaround, and turn right on McAllister Street.
