Clean, classy, great location

Very small, room a/c is loud, bad views.

We brought guests from Belgium to see SF...the hotel is in a good, convenient location and is nicely decorated. However, the rooms were VERY small, with queen beds instead of king and the room temp was tricky to control, with a loud a/c unit. Our two window views were the wall of the building next door, and the unattractive buildings across the street. Not a bad place, but know what to expect, or you could be somewhat disappointed. "Run of House" was misleading.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Powell Street cable car is only a couple of blocks away and a great way to get to Fisherman's Wharf. This hotel is very convenient for business and shopping in Union Square.

Great service from welcoming doorman to front desk to concierge and maid service Comfortable room Great location near Union Square Good food and service in Ponzu restaurant Chance to socialize with other guests at wine reception each evening

Street noise particularly in rooms on lower floors

Arrived a bit late at night and check in experience was quick and very efficient. Very welcoming staff offering help in transportation and sightseeing. Excellent location near Union Square. Enjoyed coffee in the lobby every morning and wine reception in the evening. Will definately recommend to family, friends and business associates traveling to San Francisco.

The hotel was very centrally located and therefore I can walk to lots of shops, stores and restaurant.

The elevator was very small and room was small. And no dvd player with the TV in the room.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Sorreno hotel in SF. In particular, I enjoyed the hotel's convenient location near Union Square. Though very close to all the actions near Union Square, the surroundings near the hotel feel safe and quiet. I would definitely consider going back next time I am in SF.

Location is great, front desk friendly and helpful, bell service very helpful

breakfast service at restaurant was terrible, one of two beds in room lumpy and worn out

Great lobby in a slightly dodgy area of San Francisco. Yes you are downtown, a block or two from Union Square, Theaters, etc., but the Tenderloin and Market Street are dirty, impoverished areas at your doorstep. The room was smallish but neat and clean with good linens. It had restored charm from an earlier era, but the heating system was loud and one of the two beds left me with a backache that took days to recover from. Otherwise a quiet space 17 floors above the city. I might give it another try based on the staff service and the moderate price. We did not use room service or eat dinner at Ponzu, but breakfast was served slowly, at high price and low quality. You're better off at the Taylor Street Cafe around the block.

Restaurant Tip : Taylor street cafe across the street from Ponzu has cheap, clean, quick diner food for a no-nonsense breakfast before heading out into the city. Its not special, but for the money it can't be beat

Friendly staff, wine tasting everyday from 5-6, overall a nice experience

Small bathrooms with little shelve space for toiletries, small elevators, located on the fringe of the "bad side of town"

Overall I would recommend the Serrano Hotel for young couples and business types. There was a Euroamerican feel about the hotel with many international visitors present. Few families were there and I would not recommend this boutique-style hotel to traveling families.
