Very nice room service, location is at the center of San Francisco, close to places of interests, e.g. Shopping centers, restaurants.
Shopping Tip:
Jump into the train and head for union square, suggest to buy daily tickets of used 14 per person. You can travel around the city after shopping to fishermans wharf etc.

had a wonderful stay at the fairmont in beautiful san francisco. the only negative thing is - no coffee machines in the room for the price you are paying. make sure to stop by the tonga room for evening entertainment and a drink and a bite to eat!

The fairmont is indeed a top class hotel but somewhere down the line it appears to have lost the personal touch certainly by the check-in staff who I found to be unhelpful bordering on rude. The rooms are lovely and the beds extremely comfortable. I requested a kettle which was duly delivered to the room. However I really would not stay here again because I found it too impersonal and the staff unfriendly. I have stayed in the best hotels all over the world but unfortunately this one gets the thumbs down from me.

The hotel is very elegant and full of charm. The best time is to stay in the hotel during Christmas time. The installation is brilliant. I enjoyed the atmosphere in the lobby very much. It has a great value to stay with Fairmont which is one of my favorate hotels. The location is very convenient and closed to everything you need to visit in San Francisco.
