Channel view pleasant
Nice view, central , handy to fish markets

Very handy to hop on /off bus to see Washington. Guy at the front desk gave us an upgrade to see the channel, but we were up and out for the days activities, so early we really didn't take advantage of the view.

Great Location
Beautiful river view and close to all the sites - walking distance
8.3
I read so many bad reviews that i was not expecting much - We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. On arrival I was allocated a street view room even though I had made an advanced tel call from England requesting River View. The Manager was called and he was so nice and helpful and upgraded my family to a suite with a River View at no extra charge. Its true the hotel is tired, but its clean and as its due for 'knocking down for a regeneration project shortly' tgere would be no sense in refurbishment. Its very charming in its own sweet way, and I could not have asked for anything more. We walked to the main sites everyday which took about 20 minutes to starting point. At the end of an exhausting day it was so nice to sit on our balcony and drink wine purchased from Safeway supermarket situated just around the corner. It was facinating to watch the world go by - so much going on. Beautiful views.
A real bonus was the free car park situated underground the hotel. Fantastic value for money, I would most certainly return there.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel restaurant was so nice - reasonably priced and one of the nicest meals I have tasted. We did not use the cafateria for breakfast and this was totally overpriced. Instead I visited the local supermarket each morning which opens at 0600 hours - safeway. I purchased, iced cold orange juice 2l - bread rolls freshly baked, cheese and ham and we ate that in the room for just 15USD. A much better idea.

Nice big rooms and good service
Huge room, great amenities, decent location
7.7
Fantastic Hotel with huge rooms and great amenities. The room service food was good and open quite late which was nice. The location is nice along the water if you don't mind a short walk to get to the museums and a bit further to the city centre.

This hotel has seen it's best days. The restaurant is dark and the room are old and in bad condition. There are no refridgerator and the wall papers are dirty. The rooms are not clean and the service is a lot below expectations. However, the price is low so don't expect high standard.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The National Mall is close. The Jackson Memorial is walking distance.
The seafood market is very close and work a visit. Nice place.

Good location but wouldn't recommend this hotel!
Good location & free internet!
4.7
THE GOOD THINGS:
1. Location - The Channel Inn Hotel is really close to the Metro (5 minute walk to the Waterfront Metro Station) and in walking distance (10-15 minutes) to main sites i.e. Washington Monument, Air & Space Museum, Holocaust Memorial Museum.
2. Free internet
3. Clean bathroom - The bathroom was surprisingly clean (compared to everything else in the room)!
THE BAD THINGS:
1. STAFF - the staff was so unfriendly and rude!! Don't even bother asking them for any help or information! You won't get it and you will be so annoyed by their arrogance and rude behaviour!
2. ROOM - Everything in the room was OLD and did not look clean; the carpet, the bed, the air conditioner, the TV, the sofa. The A/C was really loud and did not work properly!
3. PRICE - For the quality of service and the room the price was not worth it.
4. LOUD - There was loud music (karaoke) from the bar every evening until late at night!!
Although the location is good, we wouldn't go back to stay there and would certainly not recommend anyone stay at Channel Inn Hotel! We wish we had read reviews about this hotel on other websites before we made our reservations!!

Great Value in a Great Location!
NIce staff, Free parking, Clean, Great location, Starbucks, Safeway, and Subway nearby
8.7
we had orginally booked a quadruple room, which we were told had a king size bed and a pull-out sofa. upon arrival, we found out that a quadruple room was actually just a room with two double beds. however, after talking with the manager (i guess that's who he was) , he put us up in what he called "the best room in the house", which was a suite - plenty of extra room for our family of 5 and my sister who tagged along for the trip. the hotel was in a great location, and though it is a blast from the past decor-wise, it was a great value for the room and location. we will definitely stay there again when we visit washington dc.
Travel tip:
starbucks and safeway (with great deli) within walking distance, free parking! at other places you'll pay $50 a night for parking

Great Location and Service
Walking distance to National Mall, Good Foods, Nice staff
9.3
I stayed at Channel Inn for 4 nights. the staffs are great to provide any help I need. The location is walking distance to National Mall and Smithsonian. my room facing to the pier with the nice view. The food is good and worth the price. It will be definitely my first choice if I return to DC.
