Normal stay. Nothing impressive

Gym and near to many eateries and cafe
5.3
Managed to visit the gym with basic equipment. Nothing special. But I had a bad experience with the receptionist. I gave a call to hotel for check out extension. The lady who answered my call replied that she will call me back once she checked with the management. The next thing I know, she copied the wrong number and not able get me then. Luckily, I called back to check with hotel since I don't hear from her after 5 minutes.

Unhelpful & incompetent staff

The food was good, the room was comfortable and there was free WiFi

I arrived 10.30 pm and really struggled to find the hotel car park but could not find it. At check in I asked where it was and was told it was full. I then had to take my car to a multistory car park which costed me an extra £22 and an unpleasant walk in the rain. A colleague of mine who arrived after me was able to use the hotel car park because they "insisted" on a parking space. I also paid for breakfast on arrival but in the morning I was told that no payment was made and I was made to wait for 15 minutes in the restaurant watching people have their breakfast till they checked. Awful !

Below Executive Standard

Free internet
4.7
I booked an executive room for a work visit. Having stayed in other Novotels in Europe i found the rooms to be extremely sub-standard. The cheap light wood and plastic feel of the rooms reminded me of a basement price chain of sleeping lodges in the UK. I could not quite understand why they separated the Toilet with the sink and bath. In a well kitted out hotel this would be fine but the bathroom had a large plastic sink, whilst the toilet looked very dated. The bed was extremely uncomfy. Positives were however bedside power plugs which are hard to find in many hotels, upmarket coffee machine and mp3 dock. Free version of the internet was also fine for email activities. Breakfast was quite basic for price attached to room also.

Good value with well appointed, comfortable rooms

Rooms, facilities and free gym
4.4
the novotel formula is a good one and offers that little extra over it's rivals. the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and good bathroom. i was surprised to see a free gym, stem room/sauna for this price. the hotel offers underground parking, too. service was excellent with amongst the politest staff i have ever encountered. hard to beat for the price..

Great location and friendly staff

Friendly staff
3.8
The hotel would seem to be a business traveller's hotel rather than one for relaxtion and enjoyment. It's location is a bit removed from the centre of Glasgow making it a fair walk to the main tourist attractions of the city. overall a comfortable and clean hotel although a taxi is in easy reach if required..

Good hotel with great front desk service staffs.

Conveniencely located. Near to city center as well as easy access to Glasgow U.

Parking around hotel area is a big problem especially in the evening time. No free parking for hotel guest. Plenty of room for improvement for house keeping. Encountered exposed live wire under desk which is extremely hazardous. Hotel staff did fix it immediately upon feedback.
