Noisy, smelly water
Reception desk staff, dining room staff
OK. Fair walk from all points of interest. Biggest problem was that we had intended to sleep until 8.30 - 9.00. Impossible as there was a noise like a bang repeatedly happening. Thought it might be slamming of doors, pipes or possibly the maids trolley but couldn't see any of it repeating as often and started at 5.30 am and escalated at 6.30am. Terrible night's sleep. view from our room looked like some sort of sewerage works. Buffet breakfast was dried and had sat for a while when we went to restaurant Lastly but not least the water in the room was awful. You could smell it when you ran it. Couldn't drink it. Didn't smell of chlorine so no idea what it was but with the sewerage works behind didn't even want to shower in it.

Excellent location!
Location, value for money, staff very helpful
We arrived before the usual 2pm check-in time but they allowed us to check in early. Room was spacious and the bed was nice and comfy. The location of the hotel is excellent, just a short 10-minute walk to the city centre. The staff at the reception was very helpful too when we asked for tourist attractions in the city. She gave us a map of places of interest nearby. Definitely would stay here again in our next visit to York.

Nice hotel, good breakfast, central location
good breakfast, central location, comfortable room
When we checked in , it was at 8:30pm, and one of the lifts was broke down. I asked front desk staff, but her answer was disappointing and asked us to carry our big luggage up taking the staircase to 4th floor. Internet was not connected at all. Breakfast was too full of guests, no replenished of food. When we sat down, table was still dirty, seems there were under staffs. Parking has to pay GBP 10 / a night. Other than that, everything was fine.

A very disappointing stay
None
When we arrived at the hotel the staff checked us in smoothly but were not friendly or welcoming. We were not offered any information about York or about the hotel itself. We were not offered breakfast or given information about where the hotel facilities were located. The foyer smelt of bleach which was quite unpleasant. The room itself was a disabled room though neither myself nor my husband are disabled. We felt quite uncomfortable in the room as we are relatively tall and everything in the room was low. The bathroom sink was virtually at my knees. The decore was of poor quality with textured wallpaper and a poorly fashioned headboard. The bedside tables were so small you could barely fit a glass of water on them. If
