A flawed experience

Decor, Quiet location, Room size
This is an exquisitely designed hotel. Decor is beautiful. However, we booked two rooms, one for ourselves and the other for a friend. The friend's room (room no. 4) smelled of sewage on the first morning of our stay. The hotel compensated our friend with a room upgrade, but the fault in the room is inexcusable.

Beauty is in the details!

Staff, Room, Breakfast
We decided to stay here for 3 nights in the pool corner suite because of the good reviews from previous visitors. That was the best decision. The hotel is very beautiful, decorated with northern Thai arts and the whole place is scented with fresh flowers and aromatic plants. I love floated flower decoration in various places in the hotel. This is the kind of details that makes the place special, even though it is a fair bit of work comparing to simply putting cut flowers in a vase. The room itself was very spacious, clean, comfortable and very charming. Homely too at the same time. We stayed in the pool corner suite with nice view of serene pool amidst trees but the water was too cold to swim in. Bathroom was fantastic, huge, great water pressure and beautifully hot! Being high maintenance, I don't usually use shampoo/soap from hotel rooms but this hotel is an exception, I absolutely loved their shampoo, soap and hand cream. It helps that they also have spa business and care about their guests' wellbeing. The mosquitos in the bathroom botherd me a little that might be because we left door open to let enjoy fresh air and didn't use fly screen. The breakfast was made fresh from the order we put in the first night. Breakfast menu was good range and of high quality, served in the cosy breakfast room. The best thing in this hotel is staff. Being a small resort they recognised guests by name, face and room number from the first day we stay. Each time I asked for help, I got what I wanted and met with such spirit of hospitality. They always have time for us. I also loved the fact that they have beautiful northern Thai uniform. We brought in our own dinner (because I wanted northern Thai food but didn't want to go out again) which is prob not encouraged by other hotels but no problem here, we had a small but full kitchen and everthing we needed included the dining table for 8. They washes dishes too (just need to ask and tip house keeper a little).

Beautiful retreat far from the madding crowd.

Wonderful room with great bathroom, great pool, beautiful view from reataurant deck with delicous food at reasonable prices.
Once I adjusted to the distance from town by renting a motor scooter, the stay was marvelous.

Big nice room with spa feeling

Big and comfy bed with jacuzzi
Feel like home and the bedroom is big. If you like to go to spa this is great and private choice. To go around you need to rent a car. Breakfast has not much choice.

A luxury Oasis with excellent service

decoration, service, comfortable
It is a wonderful resort at good price for relaxation during holiday! The room is spacious and very clean, decorated in Thai style. Restaurant is out of the hotel, about 3min walking, it is next to the rice field so that you could enjoy your meal with green nature, or dine in the high class club house. Food is wonderful! I love the typical northern Thai food so much, and every time I will order the Ko Soy (curry noodle). Staff are very kind and helpful. It was my birthday in the check in date, they gave me a big surprise for welcome: cold grass lemon tea, fresh fruit, birthday cake and a spa coupon in their famous SPA!!! They were so nice! When I checked out to the airport in early morning, they arranged car for free delivery. If you like staying in a peaceful, quite, relaxed resort, it would be a good choice. If there is anything can improve, I think the hotel can provide 1-2 shuttle bus to city for convenient transportation, say earlier time and noon, instead of only 1 sending out to city and 1 carry back to hotel, otherwise guests have to call taxi for long distance delivery.

A great experience

The staff, the food, the overall facilities
If you don't mind staying just a few minutes outside the downtown area this was a great escape. I'd been in the downtown area for five days and I was ready for the escape. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is vey helpful, the food is excellent especially at the restaurant in the clubhouse area. One of the best dinners we had was there and it looks out on the mountains. They serve a wonderful plated breakfast with more food than most can finish at any one sitting. The rooms are spotless and there are flowers and water features everywhere. They offer free shuttle service to the city and back to the hotel every day at 10am and 6pm to and from their downtown location (also a spa hotel, but a lot smaller and no pool). If those times don't work for you the staff only needs a half hour notice to order a cab which will take you anywhere in the city for 250 Baht. I felt the only downside was the outside clerk at the spa itself. We waited for quite some time while she fixed her hair. We walked to the back to get her twice. She wasn't very accommodating so we left and got a massage in the city. We didn't let this piece if our experience sour our view because the staff in the hotel, restaurant, and clubhouse were exceptional and the clerk at the spa was just rather young.

Big rooms, wifi, airport shuttle
I hate to say this but I was deeply disappointed. I hardly wrote any review but this one is worth writing, I'll start with the pros. Pros- Massive rooms, but the corner suites have no bath tubs and showers were weak. I visited Thailand many times and I did not expect this to happen for a spa report. But other than that the rooms are very comfy and homy. Very quiet, good for a retreat. Free bikes to rent Spas are excellent - nothing to complain, 20% off for residents of the resort. The magical four hands massage is really worth trying Transport fr airport is complimentary Cons - Despite the staff tried, I find their service is not up to standard, I requested for a late check out and they insisted I didn't. It was quite furious as though I was lying! Turned out they made the mistakes and still I didn't manage to check out the time I requested. Most of the staff English is poor - they many times cannot understand my requests such as to book a cooking class, as simple as that... Breakfast is average. Location is quite far fr old city, but if u only here for a nice and quiet break that is a okay. I think this place is only good for its proximity to the airport and the resort and the spa itself. However they have another branch for their spa at the city centre too, so I don't think I can say this hotel was worth the money. It's a shame the place is so nice yet the services let the whole thing down.
