great friendly hotel in the heart of the city

Location is perfect ..
i stayed in the old waverley on princess street for the majority of a week. the hotel was easily the best value available in the heart of the city. had the cheapest smallest internal room which was great for sleeping but little room for much else. everything was clean and bed warm and comfortable. all the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions that i had. breakfast was buffet style and of a good quality with haggis included
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Visit North Berwick from the bus station . 1 hr 20 minutes away and a great trip yo see some of the neighbouring villages and towns as well as a beautiful seaside town of North Berwick

Nice hotel and good location

Right in the centre of Edinburgh, clean rooms, good breakfast
Very good hotel overall, 5 min walk from the train station and 10 min walk from the royal mile. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby and few bars as well. The rooms were very clean and the staff friendly. I would definitelly recommend this place for a long weekend in Edinburgh.

great location

ideal location on princes street
make sure you ask for a room not facing princes street unless you love hearing the bagpipes all day long. the rooms can get hot so ask for a fan immediately. otherwise the room was great. the hotel has breakfast but it is expensive.
Hotel Feature Tip: USE the buzzer upon entry to get someone to bring your luggage up the flight of stairs to the front desk. The elevator starts there!

Nice hotel with an excellent location

Proximity to attractions, train station
the hotel is situated on princes street about a 5 min walk from the waverley train station. all attractions are within walking distance. we reached the hotel late morning and were given a room immediately despite being early for check in. our room had a really nice view of the city with the castle in the distance. the room was well sized with a fairly large bathroom. since the hotel is on the main road however a room on the lower floor would be a bit noisy with sounds of traffic. overall though great location and good service.

Very very good

Right in centre of town,,old style scottish hotel
Great position across the road from main rail station,,great shopping, great breakfast, rooms clean just a bit small,,Hungarian staff not up to the job and car parking was a problem,,only two drawbacks
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Everyting was close at hand

Great location and a fine rom.

the room was alright
Because of my mother's health I ordered a room at your hotel because of the elevator. When we arrived at your hotel we got the news that your elevator didn't work. We also got to know that we had got a room at the fourth floor. The only the personal could do was to give us a room at the second floor. That was the only avaiable. Because of this my mother got sick after our travel and our trip didn't become like we expected.

Old Waverley Hotel,

It was lovely. I was there during the last days of the Edinburgh' Festival and it was incredible. Music all over people having fun along Prices street. The hotel is in walking distance from the major city attraction. From my view I had a nice view of the castle and the park ;)

Hotel in posizione perfetta
