poor egg chef service, poor transport access

near Yu Garden
4.7
I requested for sunny side up, chef didn't want to freshly make but serve cold egg left over on the table. Concierge does not get taxi for you, had to walk out yourself to junction to flag taxi.

Close to the Bund

Location, helpful staff

This hotel is very near the bund only a street away. If u live in a room facing the street, u will hear the clock locates at the bund rings. Check-in lobby is at level 8. Luggage can be hold at level 1. Food around the area can be a difficult to find - asked for directions from the level 1 staff (if u can speak Chinese). The staffs are helpful, willing to give u directions and also constant follow-up when a cab did not arrived after 20mins. The location is close to yu yuan (yu garden). The train station is 5 mins walk from the hotel. No wifi in the room though.

Not Bad For The Money

Price, Free Breakfast, Attentive Staff
7.7
Not bad value. A +++++ to the housekeeping lady. I asked for an iron and she ran down the stairwell instead of taking an elevator. I was staying on the 12th floor and she ran down the stairs because I could hear her feet. I did not expect that from any hotel, not even the Ritz Carlton. So after she came running back up out of breath I tipped her 3 usd.

Across the road from the bazaar

Location, price, no fuss

Room was very clean, shower lovely and hot, location was great opposite Yuyuan Bazaar, bottom 7 floors are a haberdashery market and entry is on a side street, reception on floor 8. Was music noise from one of their restaurants from 7pm till 10:30pm but barely heard over the TV. After check in never needed to worry about reception till check out as the lift would take you straight to your level.
