The hotel is of a high standard with excellent rooms and a great outlook over Hindmarsh Square. Staff were all friendly and helpful; especially at reception, the room cleaners and in the coffee shop,

So many restaurants and coffee shops around that you will find something that suits within walking distance

the location of the hindmarsh hotel is the up side of this inner city hotel, the are a number of down sides though.
no free internet, no breakfast included, no car parking except for very expensive hourly metres out the front and a few garages not far away but also expensive and not convenient, you cannot simply take the car out and in on the same daily charge.
having travelled extensively i found it almost unheard off not to have breakfast included in an already very expensive hotel.
internet is a give away in most hotels around the world, not so australia, it is a major gouge in hotels, ask before you book is my advice.
rooms was not made up in good time, you would think as check in is 1400, the room service would have been around to all rooms, not so at this one, they left ours till well after 1700, we gave up and just asked for clean towels in the end.
the last observation, no in room safe, this was also a shock at the price they charged for a room.
Restaurant Tip:
north terrace end of rundel street has great little bars and restaurants, thank you cafe felici, free internet, great coffee, vibrant and most trendy. we sat there, drank and ate, while researching what to do and where to go, after a few days we even got a discount card from the lovely manager.

I think the Mantra hotel is arguably their flagship hotel in the country.
