'Bucket List' trip to Ayers Rock
The complimentary hotel transfers from the airport; the friendly staff and the bar and dining facilities.
7.7
I travelled with my elderly parents to Ayers Rock Resort and chose to stay at the Desert Gardens Hotel in a deluxe Rockview room for our 3 night stay. My research indicated it was above average standard of accommodation. The view from the room was just as advertised, but we found the room a little 'tired'. The carpet was stained and the bathroom cabinets were showing their age. Cleaning of the room was not done to our satifaction. On the first day, the crockery was not washed up or replaced and the beds were not remade. On the second day,not all linen was replaced. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly though and reception staff were very keen to assist where possible. Reception was very efficient as well. Tours can easly be booked and most tours collect you fom reception. We enjoyed the free resort activities. Make sure you participate in the Dot Painting activity. We had a great time learning about indigenous art and loved creating 'our own story' on canvas. Ayers Rock Resort IS the town of Ayers Rock; it has the supermarket, shop, bank, petrol station etc and there is a free shuttle that takes you from one area to another. You can of course walk around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Relaxed
Lots of places to go; different restaurants; regular bus
6.3
Pretty interesting place. Pretty expensive as well (there is no competition as all places are part of the same consortium). Rooms okay, mostly without internet. Lots of places to eat. Quality of food very different as well as the staff, from highly professional to clueless.

Relaxing surrounding with a pool by the hotel.
Modern design, large room, great breakfast.
6.7
The hotel is first stop of all airport shuttle and tour coaches pick-up in the resort, that means you may have to spend extra time waiting for all other passengers to get on the coaches. Otherwise, the stay was rather pleasant, particularly enjoy the buffet breakfast where omelette, egg benedict or french toast could be freshly made to order. Generally, food prices are high though.

Expensive, poor standard, but it is Uluru
5.3
Your options in Uluru are limited. The hotel is fine you, just hope for better given the price. The disappointing part was the quality of food on offer is very poor. The supermarket was we used by us!

we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend to anyone wanting to visit ayres rock(uluru) . We were pleasantly surprised to find a good shopping area/ town /village centre within the resort. Caters for everyone. The staff at the hotel were so helpful and polite. We would have loved to have stayed longer. Thankyou Desert Gardens for a good experience.
