Clean room but a little bit far from downtown
People at the hotel was very nice and was putting a lot of time to help us book a tour

The room was pretty big and it has all the things we need to cook. The light didn't really work so it was a bit dark at night. The front desk person was really nice and she helped us to book a tour just in time. It was a pretty long walk from the hotel to the center of the city, it's about 15 minutes walk.

Really good hotel with great restaurant

We had a really good stay here. Really enjoyed the pool area and definitely recommend the restaurant for dinner. Shuttle service was great, but unfortunately as my sister and I were leaving at different times, only one of us was able to use it.

We stayed here initially because it was close to the hospital (which is the reason we were in cairns) but found it to be a great place to stay to unwind. We were very happy with the service, the staff are friendly, have no complaints whatsoever.

Great value for money, nice rooms

Nice hotel. We would stay there again. Nice size rooms, tastefully decorated. Surprisingly quiet. Beds very comfortable. Friendly staff. Restaurant there is excellent for dinner, not so great for breakfast. Nice pool area. 5 min to promenade. Close to public bus stop for beaches.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the restaurant at least once on your stay. Food is excellent and reasonably priced.

Free internet for five hours per stay, clean, spacious, modern style, variety of tv channels.

It had all the essentials and more. Though during our stay the dishwasher broke, the staff did repair it over the course of 24 hours by taking it out and then bringing it back the next day. Though the city was in walking distance, it was time consuming.However, it was a clean apartment and had good sized windows as well as a balcony.

we stayed 8 nights with an early arrival - they dont do 24 hr reception every night but someone came to meet us & show us to our room at 4am.
really friendly & knowledgeable staff, great place to stay for couples or families. the restaurant is a must! the food is exquisite.

Excellent in all areas...except one

Be aware: If you crave an undisturbed night's sleep, then this establishment is NOT for you. It lies directly on the flight path of all planes taking off from Cairns Airport, although it sounds like they are taking off from just next door. The construction of the place - basically a two-storey building built around a pool - also adds to the noise problem...every sound is amplified. Inconsiderate guests who choose to sit around the pool and chat (etc.) to the early hours, together with those who leave at 4.30 AM to catch an early flight and those who arrive late add further to the noise problem. Sound insulation of the rooms would appear to be minimal or non-existent.

Friendly hotel, relaxed atmosphere
Close to Esplanade boardwalk, shopping and restaurants, friendly and helpful staff.

I enjoyed the setting, only 2 stories high, our room overlooked the pool set in a tranquil garden. The room was moderately large with a spacious bathroom.
Best feature was the location. Only a block from the walking/cycling track along the foreshore, but far enough away from the busy tourist precinct to be quiet. Many restaurants were within a 10-15 minute walk.
There was secure undercover parking for our hire car.

friendliness of front desk staff varied considerably--friendly during the day and curt at night. spacious rooms with good kitchen facilities. location a bit away from center. not helpful in arranging tours. indonesian restaurant many rave about but found it only average. be careful if you do not book directly with hotel--may lose out on amenities such as free breakfast.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Apparently, in terms of what you see, it matters little what snorkeling venture you book. Don't miss beautiful botanical gardens--can get local bus there.
