The place was pretty cheap, and we were able to sleep 3 adults in a room with no roll-away.
It was dirty. The cleaning staff did not clean the room well, which leads to ants. We had coffee in the room and it was left the next day even after the came in and made the beds (that's all they did). So we had ants in our room. There is also very little privacy. Since all the balconies open on to the general area of the hotel, if you have your drapes open everyone can see in your room.
We used the Coral Tree Inn as a place to sleep 3 adults. If we would have actually been spending time in Cairns city, we would have found a better place to stay. But since all we were doing was sleeping, it was adequate. But I don't like hearing excuses for unclean places. A couple times as we were returning/leaving other guests were complaining about the ants. The response was always an excuse about how we were in a wet area and there was nothing they could do. After leaving my coffee mug full of coffee in my room all day (cleaning crew not taking it away or replacing with a fresh glass) we understood the quality of teh hotel was just at a lower level.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We were picked up to go White Water rafting from the coral tree inn. It was a Raging Thunder Xtreme trip, and we really had a blast!
