Being one of the cheaper motels in Cairns I was a bit apprehensive, but the staff were nice enough, room fairly clean, it was close to the city centre and proved to be nicely functional (laundry facilities, free WiFi etc). No problems during our stay. Too easy. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation are the drawcards for the area, and well worth it. They're simply stunning. DON'T do the skyrail, it's a rip off which deposits you at Kuranda, the ultimate tourist trap because unless you drive, you can't leave by any means except a return trip on the skyrail or via the kuranda train (both very expensive). I wish I'd spent an extra day on the reef rather than go to Kuranda.
