We came late from Cairns airport and were fetched and taken to the resort by a very friendly and resourceful man arranged by the resort. The owners were trying their very best to give us good advice about what to see and where to go. They were exceptionally helpful. The location of the resort is just opposite the sea, but this time of the year (February)is not for sea swimming really due to the poisonous jelly fish. Many restaurants and bars just in the vicinity as well as a couple of small supermarkets ensured that we did not miss anything.

We spent 6 days at this comfortable, quiet, apartment. The pool was refreshing, Stephen and Margaret kept in contact with us and organized transportation to and from the airport. You can take a bus into Cairns for a fraction of the cost of a taxi, Port Douglas is only half an hour to the north, the beach is refreshing, and Melaleuca is right in the center of the town, so you have easy access to stores, restaurants, and transportation.
Restaurant Tip:
El Greco, Bella Baci, Choc Dee, and Portabello are all excellent. Pizza at Il Forno is fresh and delicious. You can get fresh bread and supplies at the local grocery stores.
