So named after its rainforest-inspired atrium, this hotel provides deluxe tropical accommodation well-positioned for exploring the Top End. Travelling through remoter parts of Australia doesn�t have to mean sleeping rough and the Novotel Atrium in Darwin is proof of this. On first entering the hotel, guests are treated to the titular atrium � a striking sunlit garden area that also doubles as a lobby bar - and rooms are similarly refreshing, with lots of light offset by indigo carpeting. The hotel is ideally located on the waterfront Esplanade overlooking the sea and Bicentennial Garden. It sits adjacent to the CBD � Mitchell Street bars and shops are a five-minute walk away � making it an excellent base both for both day trips and nightlife.

Location. Right by the sea side park and within walking distance to the town center. Front desk personnel was very helpful.
Room is dated. Within the room, cleanliness may be improved or carpet/utilities need to be updated.
We had a problem with our another hotel reservation and at the last minute decide to check into the Novatel. The Novatel was almost fully occupied but their front deak personnel was most helpful to work with our booking agent to accomodate us as best as they can.
The lobby of the hotel was impressive and comfortable. Hotel has complete suite of facilities: good restaurant, swimming pool, hottub, etc.
Room is a bit dated (at best 3 stars) and should be rennovated to reflect the price charged.
Nightlife Tip : There is a shuttle bus that runs from the front of the hotel to the weekend night market

Good location, very nice lobby. Free internet and computers near lobby. Close to restuarants and cinema.
No good for greenies as they want you to leave the aircon on all the time even when you are not in the room. Uncomfortable bed with very thin pillows. Not obliging for an early check in.
Given the worst room in the hotel. I paid for a sea view but it was on the lowest floor with the hotel sign blocking my view. Uncomfortable beds, thin pillows and doona inside covering was dirty. This hotel is now a bit updated. I am also a Accor Advantage paid member and yet they wouldnt give me an early check in.
Travel tip : Free internet next to receptionon nice big computers. Very good meal at Nando's which is about 10 minutes walk.

Free upgrade on arrival without having to ask
Smells a bit mouldy and the air conditioner in the main bedroom was leaking
This was only a place to sleep as my flight arrived at 1am but the hotel had spare Suites and upgraded me without having to ask. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. As for the other feature of the hotel, well i didn't see anything else because i just woke up and checked out for the Holiday Inn Darwin at 11am. The room was large and clean and had an ok view of the harbour
