So named after its rainforest-inspired atrium, this hotel provides deluxe tropical accommodation well-positioned for exploring the Top End. Travelling through remoter parts of Australia doesn't have to mean sleeping rough and the Novotel Atrium in Darwin is proof of this. On first entering the hotel, guests are treated to the titular atrium -- a striking sunlit garden area that also doubles as a lobby bar - and rooms are similarly refreshing, with lots of light offset by indigo carpeting. The hotel is ideally located on the waterfront Esplanade overlooking the sea and Bicentennial Garden. It sits adjacent to the CBD, Mitchell Street bars and shops are a five-minute walk away, making it an excellent base both for both day trips and nightlife.
