We had only two nights here prior to heading out to Kakadu. It's in a great location on the beach but only a few minutes from central Darwin. There are several different restaurants. We tried three and all were great and the staff all through the casino complex were exceptional.

Sky city is a really nice hotel

Our stay at Skycity was short, just overnight with a very early check out. We enjoyed having a swim in the infinity pool very much, the view is terrific!
Our room was very nice, but we found an item in the desk draw left by a previous guest so I think the cleaning is not to 5 Star std.
Our meal at one of the Restaurants was quite nice, but the wait staff did not appear to be experienced with aspects of the menu, again not a 5 star std

Great location, great room and lovely restaurants!
We loved the spa, it was definitely worth the cost!.

We stayed for two nights to celebrate a birthday. The beds were comfy and enormous, we had a nice outside area that looked over to the new lagoon part, the rooms spacious and very tidy, we thoroughly enjoyed the spa. The restaurants we chose to eat at were 'Cove' which is very elegant and Sunset Restaurant which is buffet style dining, great range of food.
We were very annoyed at the limited amount of car parking near the hotel as the new lagoon area has just arrived, there is no boom gate so anyone who is there just for swimming or dinner gets prime parking.
Restaurant Tip:
We dined at the new restaurant 'Cove' it was great, small delicious meals and excellent service.

nice hotel but not 5 star

traveled with my wife. we had a bad experience with this hotel. booked the delux sea view room, however we were at level 1 so basically there's no sea for us to view. airport transport is chargeable and we were hoping there's a shuttle at least.
although the hotel is rated as 5 star, but i think it's really not up to the standard. room is quite small no need to mention about the toilet....
hotel is located next to a nice beach. good for sunset with a bottle of wine . however if you are not planning to drive,it will be a long walk for you to reach the city center.
Travel tip:
car is highly recommended

i traveled with a good friend of mine and at the end of our three-week trip we stayed at skycity for two nights. our room was a standard room overlooking the parking lot, and was very nice. there were shades on the windows that did not block out all the sun so bring your eye mask. the pool and lagoon were very nice, and a perfect temperature. we relaxed longer by the pool than we had planned because it was very enjoyable. there are a few choices of restaurants at the hotel/casino which made it easy to have meals on site. we were very impressed with the helpfulness and positive attitudes of all the staff we interacted with. they were friendly and made any request seem important. they wanted to fulfill all our requests to the best of their abilities.

the hotel is indeed a 5 star hotel offering the best services (valet parking), free newspapers and free wifi. the pool is absolutely a relaxing place to be especially during sunset. the buffet dinner at sunset restaurant is mouth-watering and reasonably priced (around aud 30 per person with casino membership)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It is along Mindil beach.

This is truely one of there best rooms if you like swimming and relaxing,with the pool right outside your room and private deck lounges. The only thing I did not like was no separate bed room just one big room. Would recommend highly thou.
