Friendly alternative to a hotel

Fine, but it is not a hotel nor really a bed and breakfast. It was simply a bedroom with bathroom (without the usual supplies) and shared kitchen and lounge. But breakfast was not served nor made available apart from a few basic items like tea baga, instant coffee, bread and margarine.
