The Horizons Motel fulfilled all our requirements. It was very handily located, just a short walk to shops and restaurants, and the beach. Positioned on the main road providing easy access to public transport. We had a very comfortable one night stay, and were very impressed with the warm greeting and friendly service provided. Basic accommodation, but comfortable, well placed, and excellent service. Would definitely stay again.

At last minute only when I called to confirm the location that I found out the hotel has decided to move me n my sister to another location saying if was an upgrade but the motel was old and probably have not dust the fan at all. The dust on the fan was as thick as cotton wool all over. Also we booked for a ground floor motel for a reason n was sent to the first floor where we had to pull n drag our huge luggage bags with risk of breaking our backs. Thank you

Nice stay if you have a car

I stayed at this motel last October for 2 days. The great are:
- The motel looks new, boutique style and cute. There's a small swimming pool for guests' use as well.
- The owner is very friendly and helpful. This is a family business, so pretty much flexible.
- The room is spacious. bathroom is clean. There are a microwave, a medium sized fridge, full sets of cutlery, water boiler in the room, making it very easy to have self service. There're also air-con and fan.
- The ambience is tranquil, relaxed, very good for holiday.
- Parking area is decent. When it's full, it could be viewed as "small" and difficult to get the car in, but it does have enough space.
- Affordable rate
The constraints are:
- If you don't have a car, and you want to spend some time at Surfer's Paradise, transportation is difficult from Mermaid beach. When I booked the motel upon looking at the map and relative distance, I thought it is within walking distance (15-20'). It is not! We tried to walk for 30' along the beach and we were still in Mermaid beach area. There is bus service to the city and other areas of course, but it's not frequent and flexible. I personally rather have a car if staying here, or stay somewhere else closer to Surfer's Paradise and walk around the area.
- The shower is not very good. Water pressure is weak and it took a long time to warm up.
- No breakfast included. I guess if you request, it can be prepared.
Overall, it was a nice stay, given that we had a car with us.

stayed there for 4nights, housekeeping was done on the 3rd day. service provided by reception was excellent and friendly. the rooms are clean, big and value for money. it is a small single storey motel with carparks directly in front of your room. didn't really explore much of the motel but it is really a value for money motel. it is close to surfers paradise, about 5 mins drive and about 30mins drive from airport. however, the motel is off the gold coast highway and as such road traffic may be an issue for others. personally, it wasn't an issue for me. overall, a good stay and very satisfied with the stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Close proximity to Surfers Paradise.

Stayed just 1 night but would consider more in the future. On the side of Gold Coast Hwy, clean modern room, I think they only have 8-10 rooms in the motel so probably wouldn't get noisy ever. Small driveway/parking area so only suited to sedans. Friendly staff and reliable wi-fi. Pleased with my stay would consider again in the future.

I stayed for 2 nights. I didn't have a car but location was very convenient. There's local shops and cafes close by, beaches are only few steps away and a bus stop is right in front of the door. The hotel is located on Gold Coast Highway, but I wasn't bothered by traffic noise much.
Room is spacious, and furniture is modern and new. Even small studio has fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils. Good enough.
The parking lots are bit small. My friend was a bit frustrated when we got out.
Staffs are friendly and informative. I enjoyed a stay.
