good location and service.It's good hotel for stay,not so far from the resturent and shopping area.Our room is facing the sea,it's just 3 mins's walk to the seashore.It's suitable for travel with family.The staff is very kind and helpful.

booked hotel for just the night to avoid having to drive home after a local event- wish we had booked additional time. location is great. we had a room on 30th floor which had obviously just been renovated which was great. good size room with lovely views. hotel is undergoing room renovations so unsure if noise on lower floors would be annoying during the week. parts of the hotel are older but didn't reflect badly on our stay. not our first stay at the chancellor chain and always receive good and pelasant service. would definately consider staying here again.

I found the hotel prices to be quite reasonable here compared to other cities in Australia. Room was clean and large, we were on the 18th floor facing Cavill St with a partial ocean view. Very central location you are a 3 minute walk to the beach, gym was ok had a universal machine with free weights up to 40lbs and some treadmills. If your room faces Cavill St it can get a little noisy with all the club goers. Overall excellent stay.

i had a really enjoyable stay at the grand chancellor at surfers paradise. the view of the surf beach from my window was excellent. the bed was very comfortable. the pool was a perfect temparature.i liked having a sizable desk to do some administrative work whilst i was staying there. all of the tings that i needed were provided. i left my keys in the room the day i flew home and i got off the plane in melbourne to find a message from a friendly staff member who took responsibility for getting my keys posted back to me. the only downside was the room 'credit cards' that are effectively the key into the room and the hotel, sometimes failed and i had to buzz from the carpark when i got back form my work on the tuesday evening to be let in and travel up and down the elevator to have the card reprogrammed to get into my room.
Restaurant Tip:
Charlies Cafe and Bar that has not shut down and run 24/7 since 1976 serve a really scrumptious plate of Fish, Chips and salad. The place is in the main mall behind the hotel.

I'm satisfied with its location close to beach.
Also, there was a swimming pool & GYM in the hotel that were useful.
The price necessary to use its service is not so much expensive as luxury hotels.
I got kind helps from concierge service there.
But the hotel was on renovation floor by floor while my room is just below the construction that it was very noisy at day time.

The location is great, right in the heart of the city, above the shops and a short walk from the beach. Staff were really friendly and we made good use of the pool and tennis court.
The room itself looks a little outdated, with old carpets and timber furnitures. We had a small analogue tv in our room. We could hear people from the hallway and the ding from the elevators in our room, but it wasn't all that frequent so it was tolerable. Could also hear flushing and showers from next door.
The bathroom was really old, the shower heads dribbled and there was a bit of mold in the corners- something a only perfectionist would pick out.
We were on the 9th floor and had a good view of the beach, but was mainly obscured from other high rise apartments or hotels.
The balcony from our room was small and ugly- so we didn't spend much time on it.
Overal if your looking for the great romantic escape- probably not the hotel for it. Something cheaper, convenient- this is it.

the hotel is in the heart of surfers. the bus stop to go around the gold coast is also right outside the hotel. the concierge guys were really nice and gave us good tips about the buses to catch to get to a number of great places. the recreation facilities were pretty good too. one of the issues we had with the hotel is that we were facing the night clubs strip and it was a bit loud at night, especially during the weekend, however if you get a room on the other side it shouldn't be so bad. also, the standard rooms need to be refurbished (very old look and the tv was analog) - the air-con in our room wasn't working properly too. overall, it wasn't a bad stay at the hotel, but it could be better.
Shopping Tip:
Check out Robina Shopping Centre and Harbour Town (which is similar to DFO)
