Both my partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Grand Chancellor. The room was lovely and clean and we had a nice view of the river. We ate at the restuarant one night and found the food to be delicious!! All the staff at the Grand Chancellor were extremely helpful and friendly and I was even more impressed when we checked out. Our flight back to Melbourne wasn't leaving the Gold Coast until 5pm that evening and the front desk kindly extended our checkout time until 12pm at no extra cost. After checking out the concierge held onto our bags and we were given a key to the pool and gym level where we able to relax, swim and enjoy the facilities until our shuttle bus had come to pick us up. It just made us want to come back and stay here again.... and we will!!

Run down rooms with unhelpful reception staff

Location is great but rooms very dated and run down.def not 4 star.found 4 german cockroaches pne of which was in the fridge.def dnt expect that in a 4 star hotel.when phoned the reception to report and request to move rooms staff were unhelpful and abrupt and made us feel like we were a nuseince.not even an apology.
