this hotel fitted the bill for a single night's accommodation. the front staff member was friendly and helpful. the single bedroom studio apartment was clean and comfortable.
my room was on the second floor and road noise was somewhat obtrusive with the balcony door open to let in a cooling breeze.
all in all, a pleasant stay.

location is convenient, near the center. but it is closed to highway, little bit noisy. oppositing to the resort, it is the view of gold coast and the view is fantastic. living in upper flats would be better. bedroom is ok. it has full kitchen and you can cook meal.

very good living experiense that I extended my living one more week.
If you have kids travelling with you,you can walk to broadwater park and your kids will have fun with the entertaiment facilities.
Shopping Tip:
near to Australia Fair,you can find coles and woolworth. Also several Asian supermarkets around.

1.service people are very nice but very few. most of time,you should self-service.
2.you can cook indoor or use bbq facility ourdoor of hotel
3.the clean for room will be done once a week by servant.

We moved this hotel as we booked late and couldn't get a room for our whole stay in the one resort.
The Rays is in Southport which is much quieter than Surfers, it is on a busy road a 15 minute walk to Australia Fair and the centre of Southport.
You can get buses to Harbourtown, Seaworld, Coolangatta etc:
However I would reccommend you hire a car if you stay here as the bus service can be a bit hit and miss and it's a bit out of the way.
The accommodation is pretty basic, but clean and good value.
The owners are friendly and helpful
