I have stayed here 4 times now and have always found the rooms nice and clean and the staff freindly. The motel is situated in a good area, close to Hobart and Belrieive, with beautifull veiws.

Mr Grant is a friendly and understanding host

The host is a very amicable man; we were lost locating the motel and checked in late. But he was very understanding and spent time explaining and helping us with the different places within immediate reach of the motel.
The place is also good as a base for exploration - we stayed 5 days and found it convenient to get into Hobart, to the Huon Valley, the Freycinet Peninsula, even to Bicheno and Coles Bay, and of course the airport. Once one gets used to making the right turn to the motel, it has its own charm nestled in a corner of the highway. We undrstand that Mr Grant is slowly upgrading the rooms and hope that his business is successful

Place was alright but is abit far to the supermarkets and restaurants.. Room was clean .. Heater was working very well.. Nice people around and quiet..

A 2* Hotel
I cannot find anything that I like of this Motel.

this is called a 'budget' motel, yes, a hotel with a very mean budget. with the rate i paid, i was told that my room will not be serviced. we were given only one bath towel with no hand towel. one set of toiletry for 2 people. we were only given one bin next to the fridge and no bin in the toilet. i had to dispose of garbage myself everyday. the stand of the heater is broken and i was told they were tight with heaters. on the 5th day, day of departure, i requested for an hour of late check out and it was refused, i was asked to clear out at 10 am sharp.
all in all, a very bad experience. i would definitely not recommend people stay in the city view motel.
Travel tip:
if you have a choice, dont stay at the city view motel

overall our stay was fine but finding how to get to the hotel was not easy. we also had a gentleman 'chanting' in the next room right up until just after we settled down to sleep (thank goodness}.
our room was not serviced after our first night apparently because we were on a reduced rate. in this case we should have been told about this when we booked.
laundry was good, views were good.
no walkable food outlets. website stated breakfast/dining facilities which were not available,
