Restaurant, pool and gym facilities, service was excellent from the hotel staff.

Presentation of the hotel gardens (weed ridden) and water damage in view on the ceiling in the bar (large section) was off putting.

The Grand Chancellor's location is second to none with views across the harbour and bay. The room was clean and serviced extremely well and the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The pool water is warmest in the morning becoming cooler towards the evening and the Gym facilities were above average for a hotel. The bar and restaurant were excellent giving good value for money. Room service was prompt and food still hot when delivered and the in room entertainment was of good value.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The full day tour to Port Arthur on the Catermeran is superb giving views of Tasmania not seen from the land. Although expensive, it is a once in a life time type experience viewing the lighthouse, coastline, pinnacles, seals and dolphins and the view of Port Arthur from the sea is beautiful.

Just in front of harbor.

In case sellecting city view, not good view.

Even if car parking is full, hotel guest can park. That system is very useful for us. Breakfast is not inclusive and restaurant breakfast was very expensive for us. Therefore we went to harbor side where many cafe is available in the early morning. Only bad point is very old lifts. We had to wait due to slow operation.
