Leisure Inns Hobart Macquarie Hotel, Hobart

Over all the accommodation was good, the staff at reception were very helpfull and pleasant the only thing that was a little annoying was the noise level from the streets below, maybe double glazing on the lower level windows could help. Stepping out of the Hotel was great as you are just a short walk from everything, close to all the shops the city centre and the Harbour, no need to catch any cab or transport unless you were heading out of town.

The Leisure Inn on Macquarie St. was a great value for the quality of the room. We were quite pleased to find kitchen utensils, cutting board, and a microwave in the room along with a kitchen sink. This made it more feasible to buy food from the local markets rather than eating out every meal. Some downsides to the Leisure Inn was the quality of cleaning. In some instances it appeared as though our room had not been vacuumed and once it appeared as though our toilet had been 'used' and not flushed!! Also… in the lifts there are small signs explaining that they do occasionally break down but not to panic because within 4 minutes of pressing the alarm button the lifts will reset and you'll be on your way. This was quite to the contrary of what my fiancee and I discovered as we were trapped in a lift for 30 minutes!! It was quite stressful for my fiancee and we were not impressed at all when the alarm button failed to work and we had to shout to get someone's attention. Thankfully we were unharmed, and the manager was quite apologetic and even sent up some sparkling wine, beer, and red wine, but it was still a major blemish during our stay with them.

Essentially a business type hotel but clean and handy to the city. Car parking spaces a little tight but free. Restaurant reasonably good and sufficient for anyone wanting reasonable price and quality. In short, this hotel is reasonable value and adequate for any visitor to Hobart. We would certainly stay here again.
