It is a great location, but the hotel room got smell and very old. It next to the street, so it was quite nosiy when you trying to get sleep. But this hotel is only 10 minutes away from city, it is good for budget trip.

Good cheap hotel 10 min drive from Hobart CBD
Good for cheap accomodation if you have a car and dont need to be close to CBD

The martin cash is not the most modern place i've ever stayed (its a bit old) but we got a reasonably priced room which was clean, had a microwave, TV, toaster, 2 beds and plenty of space.
The hotel is about a 10 min drive from salamanca markets and there are good resturants about a 5-10 minute drive away.
Cons; a bit old and in the industrial area (traffic could be loud threw the week). However I dont think theres anything as cheap in Hobart if you after a cheap room for a night or two.
I would recommend for the budget traveller.

They had a mistake with my booking.

I went in on the day of my booking for the young lady to say our booking was for Saturday night Friday, after showing her my print voucher we were moved to an upstairs room. No offer of apology for a different room, and top it off a customer on the phone who was enquiring about staying was offered a free breakfast, but nothing for our mistake.

the room i book is standard double room, number 11 on 28th sep 2012. i can say, that room is very nice,large, clean, quite and including everything like heater in bathroom, and in bedroom, fridge, micro-wave, tv, radio, iron and hair dryer.
but it is quite far from city, if you want to get there from city, you can take bus, but the time is limited, from 6am to 7pm, and pay around 3$, or you can catch the taxi and pay around 20$. so i feel a little bit not convenient even this hotel is near shopping area.
but if you have your own car, this hotel is a good choice for you.
